MEETING UP WITH THE GIRLS - AS REAL ADULTS.

I don't know if it's just me, or my friendship group in particular, but as I and my friends have gotten older, it seems to have become more and more difficult to actually stick to the plans that we make to see one another. Something always seems to crop up, so much so that our little foursome don't meet up nearly as much as we should do.

I guess the difficulty lies somewhere between the fact that we've now all got other commitments besides going out and drinking champagne, and the fact that we all live in different parts of Manchester. Either way, when we do actually get to meet up and everything goes to plan, we always make a firm point of patting ourselves on the back and congratulating one another on the fact that not one of us bailed.

And this weekend, we got to do exactly that - because our plan to meet up and have lunch fully went ahead.

And what a lovely day it was, too. We ate cake and drank champers (lemonade in Steph's case) at The Richmond Tea Rooms in the Gay Village, Manchester. Previous to this weekend, I've never really spent much time in this part of town, but it was so much fun - and the sunshine definitely helped to create a really nice, chilled-out atmosphere.

Anyway, at the moment, each member our friendship group is going through the really exciting and scary stage of life that can only be described as 'becoming a real adult'.

Our one friend, Steph, is pregnant with her first child, Faye has just bought her first house on her very own, Marc and I are engaged and have booked our wedding and Sherry is house-hunting with her boyfriend, too.

Me and the girls this weekend at the Richmond Tea Rooms in Manchester's Gay Village - such a quirky but fab little place!
I look back on the days when we used to just go out drinking, dressing up and fooling around, and I honestly can't believe how far we have all come.

When I see the girls, we always reminisce about what we were like when we were younger and all the stupid, funny stuff that we used to do - and sometimes I miss it, but then I think 'actually, no, I don't miss it, because life has moved on since then, and this is the next chapter'.

And the next chapter is even more fun and exciting.

I loved talking to the girls about my wedding plans and it was amazing to finally get to see Steph's baby bump for the first time. Yesterday, I realised that we are all growing up, but that even though our lives are changing, our friendship hasn't - which is really valuable to me.

No doubt the next few months and even years will be incredibly exciting for all of us, and I can't wait to make more amazing memories with my beautiful girlies. Who knows - maybe there'll be more than just one new addition in the near future!

Stay tuned for lots more new and exciting blog posts coming your way soon, girlies.

Lots of love,
Grace x
