SMOOTHIES - YOUR FUSS-FREE TICKET TO HEALTH.

Healthy eating and leading a general healthy lifestyle is something that's really important to me. I've grown up on all home-cooked meals and I've been taught the importance of five portions of fresh fruit and veg every day. So, I've always sort of known the importance of a good diet.

And as I've gotten older, my eating habits have remained fairly consistent. Of course, at uni there were spouts of unhealthiness but overall, I've always tried my best to ingest as many nutrients and body-loving foods as possible.

Of course, the question as to what actually is healthy and what isn't is just completely ambiguous at times. One day the news is telling us eggs are bad for us, and then the next, they're saying that we can eat as many as we like. So what's the truth?

In my opinion, as long as everything is balanced and you eat fresh the vast majority of the time, then you're good. It goes without saying that eating a pot noodle for your lunch everyday isn't ideal - the same goes for if you're eating tons of white bread...we all know that it's full of artificial sugar and additives.

The trick with healthy eating is to eat wholesome foods that are packed with vitamins and goodness, and naturally, a diet rich in fruit and vegetables is always great.

I've honestly never had a problem with fruit and veg - even as a child, I was never one of those who cried if they were told to eat their brocolli or their spinach - I just did it, no questions asked. However, for the fussier eaters out there, incorporating fruit and veg into the diet is a real struggle - and I completely appreciate that.

But, there are ways to make it easier - smoothie, anyone?

Recently, I've been absolutely glued to my BlendActive, whipping up new smoothies that are full of delicious berries and goodness. At the moment, I'm loving raspberry, banana and sunflower seed. Another that I've tried is mixed forest fruits, banana and mango - you can't really go wrong, but soft fruits are best.

So, if you're looking for an easy way to dole more fruit, get yourself a blender or a smoothie maker and get whizzing away - I promise you won't regret it!

Let me know how you get on, and be sure to note any recipe recommendations in the comments section below!

Lots of love,
