SUMMER VAYCAY: TENERIFE.

As much as I love my home life, every once in a while, taking a break from one's usual surroundings is imperative. I'm very fortunate to live in an area surrounded by greenery and prettiness, however, whilst Saddleworth is full of trees, it doesn't get a whole lot of sunshine...

And sunshine is one thing that I really do love.

So, not long after our return from Vegas, Marc and I decided to book another holiday. Six months later, it was goodbye Saddleworth, hello Tenerife.

Marc and I stayed in a lovely little resort called Puerto de Santiago, which was recommended to us by my parents, who, similarly to us, like to have plenty to do, but aren't huge on nightlife anymore.

For us, Puerto de Santiago was perfect in this regard. Our hotel, 'Barcelo Santiago', was right on the seafront, boasting incredible views of the ocean and the stunning Tenerife sunset - and it was only a 15-20 minute walk from the pretty Los Gigantes harbour.

As I've gotten older, I've become a lot like my Dad in the sense that I love boats. I really enjoy visiting different harbours and having a nosey at all the lovely yachts and fishing boats, so having Los Gigantes so close by was really nice. There was also a great selection of cute bars and shops in Los Gigantes, too - perfect for grabbing a refreshing fruit smoothie or an ice cream in the sunshine...bliss!

We walked into Los Gigantes a number of times for lunch and a drink, but one of the days, we decided to buy tickets for a whale and dolphin watching trip, too. Previous to this holiday, I'd never seen dolphins before in my life, so you can imagine how excited I was - and the experience itself was even more breathtaking than I imagined.

Like most other couples, Marc and I tend to go away to really relax and let our hair down. Marc has been busy with his new role at Huddersfield Town Football Club (who have just been promoted to the Premier League!) and so this holiday felt like the perfect opportunity to properly chill out and clear our minds.

However, a little adrenaline never hurt anybody, so around the very middle of our vaycay, we decided to go to Siam Park, one of the best water parks in the world, located in Tenerife's very own, Costa Adeje.

Our coach to Siam Park left our hotel at 8:20am, and so this was pretty much the only day on our entire holiday that we didn't get a lie in (and I do love my lie-ins). But, I have to say, it was totally worth the half-asleep 40 minute coach journey. Siam Park was, admittedly, completely amazing. I've never been on so many incredible water slides and rides in all my life, and the wave machine on the artificial beach was brilliant. So, if you're heading out to Tenerife at some point this summer, make sure you squeeze in a trip to Siam Park - I promise you won't regret it.

For me, though, the very best day of our holiday was spent on a luxury four-poster sunbed overlooking the sea. There were tons of sunbeds dotted around the pool at our hotel, but Marc and I decided to hire one of the comfy ones for a day, so that we could really take in the view and enjoy ourselves. Here, we spent the full day relaxing, drinking champagne and eating the most amazing fresh fruit salad. I mean, if that isn't the definitely of chilled out, then I don't know what is. It was just perfect.

Marc and I enjoyed 11 days of glorious sunshine, sangria, evening strolls and gorgeous sunsets, but now, it's back to reality! Naturally, I do have a small case of the holiday blues, but we both have so many exciting things going on right now with the house and the wedding, I'm actually really happy to be back home with my family and my gorgeous little pooch, who I missed way too much!

I hope you enjoyed this little holiday blog post. Again, I apologise for the fact that I've been so quiet the past few weeks, but you can be sure that there'll be plenty more posts coming your way very soon - including lots of house updates!

Lots of love,
Grace x
