WHERE SHOULD WE GO ON OUR HONEYMOON?

Marc and I get married in exactly a year, and while that might sound like quite a long time to wait, to us, this feels like nothing! We booked our wedding last February after finding our perfect venue (which sits very close to where we live) just two months after Marc proposed. The venue was everything either of us could have ever hoped for, and now, I am officially enjoying every little moment of the build up to our big day.

Some people say that weddings are very stressful, but I think they're only as stressful as you yourself make them. In my opinion, your wedding day should be about what you what, not what anybody else wants, and this is the one piece of advice (which I've been given from so many people) that I genuinely believe has made everything so much less stressful. I think it's all too easy for people to say 'you should do this' or 'you need to do this', but actually, there's nothing that you 'should' or 'need' to do on your wedding day - all of the decisions lie solely with the bride and groom, and that should be down to every last detail!

Of course, I have asked for opinions from elsewhere with some aspects of our wedding - flowers, colour schemes and so on. I trust my Mum's opinion in particular with these things, so she has been extremely helpful in deciding on certain things that will make our day extra magical.

And now, pretty much everything is sorted out. There are a couple of bits and bobs left outstanding, but with 365 days left to go, I'm pretty content with where we're at, at the moment (make sure you check out my 'A Little Wedding Update' blog post for more!) However, the one thing that I'm itching to get sorted is the honeymoon, and it's the one thing neither of us can fully decide on what we actually want to do.

The thing is, I'm torn here. We can either have a really fun, slightly wild and crazy honeymoon with a few moments of relaxation and winding down, or we can go full-blown chilled out, with nothing to think about for a good two weeks. I like the idea of both, but the thought of doing nothing but sitting on a sun lounger for a fortnight really doesn't appeal to me at all. I like to get out and see things - explore new places and do things I've never done before. I'm not the type of person that can just sit down all day and be happy - I need to keep myself busy, and for that reason, a trip back to the USA is really appealing to me right now.

Las Vegas & Los Angeles

After Marc proposed in Vegas, I always had this clear vision in my head that for our honeymoon, we would head back to Vegas for a few nights, stay in The Bellagio, just like we did last time, and then jet off to LA from there. This still really appeals to me, but then there are a bunch of other places that I'd love to visit, too. What's a girl to do?!

Croatia

My parents have just returned from their *I think* third visit to Croatia, and every time they come back, they show us all these amazing, beautiful photographs of natural rock pools and scenery, and I can't help but think a 2-hour flight to paradise is pretty much just what the doctor ordered. We could get married, have a nice little chill the day after, and then enjoy a brisk 120-minute flight to one of the most beautiful places in the world. There are no loop-holes - it just sounds incredible.

Mexico

Marc has always wanted to go to Mexico, and I guess in some ways, it appeals to me, too. The only thing that worries me about Mexico is that we'd be confined to our complex (not great for getting out and about) and it's also notorious for hurricanes and extreme weather. Imagine rocking up on your honeymoon to thunderstorms and torrential downpours?! I'd be devastated! On the flip-side, the resorts do look beautiful and there are some incredible package deals out there, too.

Puerto Banus

Puerto Banus has become famously renowned for its amazing nightlife, but it's also one of the most beautiful places in Spain, too. This gorgeous resort boasts some of the most amazing views, scenery and luxury harbours (all of which get big green ticks from me) - plus, the weather is fab, too. Just like Croatia, we could be in Puerto Banus in just a few short hours, and we'd have plenty of stuff to see and do. It's definitely a possibility!

Mediterranean/Caribbean Cruise

I have been on a Mediterranean Cruise before, but not for many years. I went with my Mum, Dad and sister, Caroline, and I remember just thinking it was the most amazing holiday, ever. It was incredible to be able to see so many different places in just two weeks, and the food, facilities and things to do on-board were all completely out of this world. Marc hasn't been on a cruise before, and I'd love to do one again, so we'll definitely be looking into our options here.

Are you married, or are you getting married? Where did you go/are you going on your honeymoon? I'd love to get a little more inspiration, so please make sure you drop a comment in the box below!

Until next time, beauts.

Lots of love,
Grace x
