WHAT TO DO IN SUNNY SANTORINI.

As those of you who read my blog regularly or who follow me on Instagram will know, Marc and I recently went on a 7-day holiday to Santorini in Greece - and it was quite simply, amazing. (I shared a blog post just before I left - 'Why I Won't Be Posting For 7 Days'

Santorini is one of those places that I've always wanted to visit - and at the end of the day, who wouldn't want to visit this place? If you search for the hashtag #Santorini on Instagram, you'll be bowled over by all the incredible snapshots taken on this stunning Greek island. It's honestly breathtaking!

But let me tell you - seeing it all in the flesh is even better.

I love Greece in general. It's one of my favourite countries to visit for so many different reasons - the food, the kind, generous people, the incredible weather and the enormous host of things to see and do to name just a few of them. But even as someone who has visited various locations in Greece, I have to say that there really is something unique and magical about Santorini.

And it's not just the amazing white buildings that make it so beautiful.

Of course, it goes without saying that the amazing architecture is just beyond incredible, but I actually fell equally in love with the more laid-back, fun side of Santorini that you don't often see on the Instagram snaps.

Marc and I stayed in a place called Kamari. It's not as expensive as the likes of Oia and Fira (the places where all the white buildings are),  but it's honestly such a gorgeous little place - and thanks to the huge selection of beach bars and restaurants, we were never stuck for delicious places to eat and drink. The choice was just phenomenal and I can safely say that throughout our week-long vaycay, we never experienced one bad meal - which is pretty amazing, I think!

When Marc and I go on holiday, one of our favourite things to do is just head to a nice beach bar and enjoy a smoothie or a coffee - or in his case, a beer, of course - and Kamari was pretty much the perfect place to do this. Flatter than the likes of Oia and Fira, but still with plenty of inclines and mountainous land, Kamari is home to the most beautiful black pebbled beachfront and there are tons of different water sports to enjoy.

Normally, we do actually book onto either a boat trip or to do something out at sea for a day, but on this holiday, we decided not to. As we were out in Santorini for a wedding as well as our holiday, we spent a lot of our time socialising with the rest of the wedding party and enjoying days and nights out with them. But for both of us, the best day of all was 100% the day we hired out quad bikes.

As I still don't have a driving licence (yep, at 26 I am still failing miserably with my tests!) I didn't drive our quad bike, but sitting on the back was honestly so much fun - and surprisingly relaxing, too! In my head, I felt as though I'd feel constantly at risk or as if I was about to fall off, but actually, I was able to just sit back and soak up the amazing views as we travelled across the island. It was fabulous!

We went from Kamari to Fira, then onto Oia, then the Red Sand Beach and then finally to Kamari to take a look at the ancient ruins at the top of the mountain. And while the whole day was absolutely incredible, my favourite part had to be finally getting round to visiting Oia, which, for those who don't already know, is the part of Santorini most famous for its sunsets, and where most bloggers go to take their Instagram photos.

And for good reason, too!

Not one to miss a great photo opportunity, I asked my fiance and personal photographer, Marc, to get plenty of photos of me with all the amazing white architecture. The views were genuinely absolutely breathtaking from this part of the island and the contrast between the bright white buildings and the deep blue sea is just completely beautiful. I can completely understand why so many people head to Santorini for their honeymoons and to get married or engaged - there really are some genuinely heart-stopping views.

Before I ramble on any more though - which I could quite easily do...for days! - I am going to finish off this post by sharing a few more photographs with you all.

I hope you enjoyed this post - it's great to be back blogging!

Lots of love,
Grace x
