I mean, I love winter, too - in fact, I'm fond of all the seasons for so many different reasons! Winter because I was born in the winter and of course, it's Christmas. Summer because it's so nice to enjoy the sunshine and to get outside in the fresh air, and spring because of all the amazing flowers and plants that suddenly begin to burst into life.
Yep, there's something great about each and every one of the four seasons.
But for me, autumn is extra special.
I love how the temperature drops and the arrival of those crisp, frosty mornings. I love the way the ground becomes littered with crunchy orange and brown leaves. I love long autumn walks with my dog, I love pumpkin spiced latte's (who doesn't?) and of course, I love Halloween.
I just love all of it! And now that we're more than half way into September (I know, right, how on earth did that even happen?!), it's safe to say that Autumn is officially here.
Well, almost anyway. Technically speaking, autumn doesn't officially start until 23rd September (this coming Sunday.) But what the heck? Four days is nothing and I'm already in the mood for all things autumn, so I decided that this post would be, for those of you that haven't already realised, all about autumn!
As you can probably tell, there are countless reasons why for me, autumn is the best season of all, and so I thought I’d share those reasons with you in this blog post.
So, without any further ado, let's get to it - I hope you enjoy!
1. The Return Of Pumpkin Spiced Lattes
Oh yes, they're officially back and I couldn't be any happier about it if I tried! You guys know just how much I love my latte's (non dairy of course), and there's nothing that gets me into the autumn spirit more than a delicious pumpkin spiced latte.
This drink has become particularly famous thanks to Starbucks, but there are now many other coffee shops offering tasty autumn treats of their own.
My favourite coffee shop in Manchester is, without question, Ezra & Gil, and my favourite coffee shop in Uppermill is definitely Caffe Grande Abaco.
Here's to all the amazing autumnal latte's, anyway!
2. Roaring, Crackling Fires
I love cosy nights in by the fire - especially since our house has a real log burner!
For me, there's just nothing better than cuddling up on the sofa with Marc, burning our Blueberry Cheesecake Yankee Candles and watching our favourite series or film whilst the logs burn away.
And of course, cosy nights are always a million times better when our beautiful little Max comes for a sleepover - for those that don't already know, my family dog, Max, lives with my parents but he comes to stay over regularly, which I love.
3. Finally, It's Boots Season Again!
In general, I much prefer autumn/winter fashion to spring/summer styles. I just love deep, rich tones and I love all the fabulous prints that return during the cooler months - leopard print, tartan and snakeskin to name just a few. But in particular, I love the fact that boots are officially back!
I love cute little ankle boots and over the knee boots - they're just my absolutely favourite and there are tons of amazing pairs to choose from right now, especially on Shoeaholics.
4. It's Halloween!
I have always loved Halloween. I used to always get dressed up for Halloween, and while I tend not to cover myself in fake blood and dress up as a zombie in the same way that I used to, I always insist on getting a pumpkin, and I love watching spooky films!
I'm particularly excited for Halloween this year as the new Halloween film is coming out. In general, I'm not a huge fan of horror movies, but this one is a classic. You can read one of the first reviews of this 2018 release now on Rotten Tomatoes.
5. Autumn Makeup Trends
And finally, I simply couldn't complete this list without paying homage to all the amazing autumn makeup trends.
What I love about autumn makeup is all the amazing shades of orange, deep reds and berry tons that suddenly begin to appear. The NARS Audacious Lipstick in Bette is an absolute must-have this autumn, as is the Dior Rouge Dior Lipstick in Egnimatic.
In terms of eye shadow palettes, the Huda Beauty Warm Brown Obsessions Palette is an absolute must-have, and when it comes to blush, nothing beats the Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blush in Quintessence. It's gorgeous.
What are you looking forward to most this autumn? Have you already had your first pumpkin spiced latte of the season?! I'd love to know, so be sure to comment below.
Until next time, lovelies!
Lots of love,
Grace x
