WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU'RE FEELING RUN DOWN.

We've all been there - super busy at work, busy again when we get home, tons of stuff still left 'un-ticked' on our list of 'things to do'. Life can quickly become hectic and for some reason, the madness always seems to arrive all at once.

And while it's great to have lots of amazing things going on, having so many different commitments and things to sort out can leave us feeling extremely tired and run-down.

That overwhelming feeling of now having enough hours in the day to fit in all those important jobs is one that I know all too well.

The thing is, as a person, I tend to put a lot of pressure on myself to make everything as perfect as possible. I am, without question, a complete perfectionist, and whether I'm editing a blog post or cleaning the kitchen, I like to know I've done the best possible job that I can. And while that's great - I mean, it's good to be a hard worker, right? - it can also be a little bit of a burden, too. I rarely give myself any time to properly relax and unwind because in my head, I'm already planning or thinking about the next thing that I need to do. My mind is extremely busy and I'm always thinking ahead.

However, recently, after beginning to feel more than a little exhausted, I decided it was time to give myself a little break and actually relax for a change. And I have to say, I'm already feeling tons better for it. So, for this blog post, I thought I'd share with you my top tips on what to do when you're feeling run down. And with a little bit of luck, you can have a refresh and get back to feeling like yourself again.

What To Do When You're Feeling Run Down

1. Have A Long Hot Soak In The Bath

Nothing relaxes me and leaves me feeling more refreshed than a lovely, long hot soak in the bath.

I always make the effort to make my bath extra nice by using sweet-smelling bubble bath and while I'm in there, I'll have a real good scrub and pop a face mask on, too.

I love the way my skin feels after having a bath - so soft, clean and supple. Baths are also great for when I want to remove my fake tan and prepare my skin for a fresh layer of tan. 2. Have A Cup Of Green Tea

Okay, so I know I'm forever going on about how great green tea is, but honestly, I can't preach enough about this stuff. So please, if you're feeling run down, exhausted or in need of a boost, get yourself down to the supermarket and grab a box of green tea!

I absolutely love the Twinings Salted Caramel Green Tea, and at this time, the Gingerbread version is a great option, too.

Not only is green tea renowned for its anti-cancerous properties, it's also great for detoxing the body, boosting the metabolism and improving the appearance and texture of skin.

In a nutshell, it's fab.

3. Make A Smoothie (And Drink It, Of Course!)

I love living a healthy lifestyle and for me, eating lots of fruit and vegetables plays a huge part in how good I feel.

For anyone feeling a little under the weather or in need of a refresh, I'd always recommend upping your intake of fruit and vegetables.

Fruit and vegetables are both super rich in vitamins and a great way to consume lots of those vitamins in one go is to blend the goodness together and create a tasty smoothie.

Right now, I'm loving my blueberry, raspberry, cherry and banana smoothies. I blend everything together with almond milk and a touch of acacia honey and it's just so good.

4. Have A Pyjama Day

I used to be so against spending my days off doing nothing, but since owning a house, my idea of 'the perfect day off' has changed so much.

Where I used to hate the feeling of spending the day in my pyjamas watching TV, these days, I embrace it.

I don't think you truly value those occasional 'nothing' days until they really do become occasional. And for me, it's taken buying a house, working full time and blogging on the side to make me realise just how important this time is.

Pyjama days are great for just completely switching off and taking time out. So, next time you feel guilty for sitting on the sofa with a bag of minstrels on a Saturday afternoon, remind yourself that its okay to take a break and have a lazy day!

5. Spend Time With Your Best Furry Friend

When I'm feeling exhausted, there are few things in life that put a huge smile on my face quite like my little dog, Max.

You guys know just how much I love my Max, but when I feel all out of sorts and in need of a little extra love, he really does lift my mood massively.

I think the amazing thing about furry family members (AKA pets) is that they love you unconditionally and whether you're sad, stressed, tired or whatever, they just have that natural power within them to pick you up and make you feel better.

I really hope you enjoyed this blog post & I look forward to sharing more with you soon! In the meantime, be sure to check out my post 'The Importance Of Me Time'.

Lots of love,
Grace x
