With so many of us are now closely watching the highbrow lifestyles of A-Listers and well-paid influencers on social media, our expectations are just so much higher than they used to be. Social media influencers and wealthy YouTubers have normalised the purchase of £2000 handbags and so naturally, we as consumers are craving that refinery, too.
Yep, the craving for all things lavish and luxurious is one that's particularly tricky to curb. And whilst there's absolutely no reason why we shouldn't treat ourselves every once in a while, it's important to remember the importance of living within our means and budgeting where necessary. It can be all too easy to get carried away, but ultimately, investing and saving will leave you much better off in the long-run. I love being a savvy spender, and putting a chunk of cash into savings every month is equally addictive.
Anyway, I’m going a little off track here, so let’s get back to the main topic of conversation - looking luxurious - and most importantly, how to look expensive without spending loads of money.

Fashion accessories play a huge role in looking expensive and exuding that designer feel |
Like I say, I love luxury fashion and I’ll happily admit that if I had the cash, I’d most definitely be treating myself to a few more pairs of designer shoes! But ultimately, this isn’t the case right now and so, like most people, I’ll have to get a little creative and continue with my savvy saving.
The great thing about fashion these days is that the high street is seriously on-point. The likes of Zara and Topshop pay such close attention to the catwalk and this eye for detail means that the clothes we pick up for £20 - £50, are some of the most realistic replicas ever.
And this is exactly what I want to talk about in this blog post. You see, the thing is, luxury fashion is exactly that - a luxury. Some have the money to afford luxury, others don't. But in any case, there will always be affordable alternatives available for us to recreate those lavish looks without breaking the bank.
To give you a little style inspiration and to really prove my point, I’m now going to share with you my top 5 tips on how to nail the high-fashion look without blowing your budget.
1. Make Your Face The Focal Point - And Keep It Natural-Looking!
I think one of the things that really makes such a huge difference to how luxurious a look is, is how you choose to do your makeup. Makeup is such a big part of my life as I just love the way it makes me feel, and while we all have our own techniques and favourite products, there are most certainly ways in which you can make your glam look more sumptuous.
In my opinion, it's all about that closer attention to detail. Things like using a lip liner to ensure your lips are entirely perfected, and finishing things off with a setting spray will make all the difference. I also recommend using a primer to hold your makeup in place, too.
Some people believe that the more makeup they wear, the more glamorous and expensive they will look, but actually, the reality is somewhat different. If you really want to ooze elegance and refinery, a natural look is 100% the way to go. You just can't beat radiant, glowing skin, bright eyes and a fresh pink or nude lip. Period.
There are a few makeup products that I rely on daily give my face that gorgeous glow that I love, and they include:

2. Play Around With Accessories
A collection of stunning accessories will take your look from 0-100 really quick, so, when you're looking to really make an impression, be sure to play around with the likes of watches, necklaces and pretty bracelets. It's all about those finer details, trust me.

3. Invest In One Designer Handbag
Sometimes, you just have to give into your inhibitions and treat yourself to something a little more expensive, and if you ask me, a designer handbag will prove an amazing investment piece.
Unlike blouses, trousers or t-shirts, a designer handbag will really stand the test of time. It's not one of those things you'll be throwing in the washing machine week in and week out. Instead, it's something you'll be able to wipe down easily, and, if you choose one that's pretty versatile, will go with tons of outfits, too!
Right now, I'm loving the gorgeous Polo Ralph Lauren Embossed Mini Sloane Satchel. It's so striking and pretty!

4. Pay Attention to 'Get The Look' Articles
'Get The Look' articles both online and in magazines show readers how they can recreate a celebrity or red carpet outfit without breaking the bank. Showcasing a selection of affordable dupes, these articles are perfect for when you want to make a huge impression but you don't have an endless pot of cash to blow.
I'm thinking of doing a 'get the look' blog post each month on my blog. Would you guys like that? Please do let me know your thoughts!

5. Pay Attention To Detail
And finally, make sure that you pay attention to detail. A highbrow look that's sure to catch a second glance is one that's been perfected in every single way. So, make sure you've covered every single angle possible.
Things like a fresh, shiny gel manicure, sleek, shiny hair and well-ironed clothes all work with one another to make such an enormous difference. Also, don't forget to apply a spritz of perfume, too. While your fragrance might not be visible to others, it's something that will help define you as a person and it'll just make you feel that extra little bit special. Some of the perfumes I love the most are Si by Giorgio Armani, Coach Eau De Parfum and D&G L'Imperatrice. These classic fragrances are complete fail-safes, and a trio that I'll simply always go back to.
I really hope you all enjoyed this post and that you found my top tips really useful!
I'll be back with more beauty, fashion & lifestyle gossip very soon, so please keep your eyes peeled.
Until next time, beauts.
Lots of love,
Grace x
