WHY YOU SHOULD START YOUR CHRISTMAS SHOPPING NOW.

If you’re one of those people that can’t even bear talking about Christmas until Halloween has been and gone, then this post may just leave you feeling, well, a little bit irritated.

But please, hear me out on this one.

Look, I know we’ve still got a couple of months to go until we’re officially in December, but whether you’re a Christmas fanatic or not, there are so many benefits to being prepared for the festivities.

Personally, I love Christmas and while I’m not one to start counting down in July like I know some people like to, I most definitely advocate being prepared for the big day and getting organised.

Why?

Well, partly because it’s super fun, but as well as that, it also makes the whole thing a heck of a lot easier in those final few weeks.

And believe me, I’ve experienced more than my fair share of Christmas Eve’s on the high street and having got caught in the last minute chaos one too many times, I shan’t be making the same mistake again any time soon.

Yep, these days, I'm much wiser and I like to begin planning everything well in advance - early September to be a little more precise. And there are a number of reasons for this - each of which I’m going to share with you in this blog post.

So, if you want to find out more, then grab yourself a mug of something warm and delicious, pop your pyjamas on & make yourself comfy.

It’s time to talk Christmas shopping and why this year, you should be prepared.

1. You’ll have time to budget and will be less likely to impulse buy

Whenever I’ve done my Christmas shop last minute, I always end up wasting money. Being in a rush to sort everything leaves me feeling stressed and I often grab the first thing I see in order to escape the madness.

By being prepared, any madness is successfully averted and you won’t find yourself grabbing the first thing that you see. Instead, you’ll have time to properly look around and weigh up your options - which is just so much better and actually, just so much more enjoyable, too!

When I’m Christmas shopping, I actually like to embrace the moment I'm in, and afterwards, I always go home feeling proud that I've done a good job. This could just be me, but I do think there's something deeply satisfying about knowing that your Christmas shopping skills are on-point. I've become somewhat renowned over the years for being a great pressie buyer, and I'm not about to give up that crown any time soon! So this year, I'm as prepared as ever and ready to impress!

Right now, I'm completely obsessing over the Selfridges Christmas Shop. It's amazing. Make sure you check it out for some amazing gift ideas!

2. You’ll be able to enjoy the build up to Christmas without worrying about gifting

I don't know about you, but I just don’t feel I can fully embrace the build up to Christmas until I’ve got all my shopping done. I feel like while I do enjoy buying presents, the time isn’t 'mine' to enjoy until I’ve got everything ticked off my shopping list.

I guess this comes from the fact that I genuinely enjoy gifting and making my loved ones feel special at Christmas time. So, until my Christmas shopping mission is complete, I don't feel I can completely enjoy all the festivities.

3. You’re more likely to bag the ‘must-have’ gifts of the year & less likely to miss out on anything!

This is especially important if you’re shopping for children - after all, how do you possibly explain to a five year old that Santa somehow forgot to give them the one present that sat right at the top of their Christmas list?

It's not just an issue with kids, though. Ultimately, if you’re unable to pick up a present for the simple fact that you’re behind schedule and you’ve left it to the last minute, you’re going to be seriously annoyed with yourself.

My advice? Get it done now!
