HOW I CHANGE MY SKINCARE ROUTINE IN WINTER.

As most of you will already know taking great care of my skin is so important to me. I feel so confident when my skin is clear & glowing and it’s just so lovely to feel that makeup isn't always completely necessary.

Now, I love makeup as much as the next person - in fact, I love it more than most! - but as far as beauty is concerned, for me, the fundamentals start way before the foundation is slathered on...

Any fabulous look is, in my opinion, built on beautiful-looking base. So, if you know you have a smooth, flawless complexion, you can be sure as hell that your makeup is going to look incredible.

In terms of attaining that ‘perfect skin’ look, the products and attention that is needed varies from person to person. For example, someone like me who has normal - combination skin, keeping my routine relatively simple seems to work and avoiding anything too harsh or drying also - touch wood - works. Those with acne-prone or particularly dry skin will obviously have their own ways of doing things.

However, one thing that all skin types have in common is the fact that every now and again, things need a little freshen up. This involves taking a step back, analysing our skincare routine and the products we use and tailoring our regime to suit our environment.

At this time of year in particular, when the weather is especially dry and cool, it’s absolutely essential that we care for our skin in a way that is going to keep it as nourished, supple and smooth as possible.

And yes, that even applies to those with super oily skin. As a random ‘myth buster’ for you all, it’s worth noting that even those with the oiliest of complexions still need to moisturise. If this isn’t done, the skin can go into oil production overdrive, which results in even more blemishes and breakouts. So, the moral of the story is... Stay moisturised!

Anyway, back on with the post...

So, in this post, I thought I’d talk to you all about how my skincare regime has changed and is changing for the winter months. Like most, I do have a few products that always stay present in my routine, but there are others that I cut down on, some that I reintroduce, and some that I simply banish completely!

Without any further ado, let’s get to it & let’s talk winter skincare...

1. The Product I've Just Discovered - The White Company Super Serum

When people think of The White Company & what they're famous for selling, the chances are that the first two things they'll think of are 'home essentials' and 'clothing' - but actually, they specialise in a few other areas, too...

Including skincare!

That's right. For those of you who, like me, love the feeling of luxury that The White Company promises with all of their products, you'll be delighted to hear that they have a fabulous range of skincare products.

The product that I recently discovered of theirs and have absolutely fallen in love with is the Super Serum Advanced Multi-Depth Concentrate.

Targeting a whole range of skincare concerns, this product boasts a thinner texture than what you'd find in a moisturiser, and the intelligent formula absorbs deep into the skin to nourish and protect. The magical blend of protein-rich amino acids, green tea and grape vine stem cells (plus more!) team together to plump-up the skin and improve tone and texture.

It's amazing and I couldn't recommend it more!

2. The Product That's My Ultimate Winter Skincare Saviour - La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume

This product really is a skincare saviour and in winter especially, I just can’t live without it.

The La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume is deeply moisturising and has been expertly developed by the skincare gurus at La Roche Posay to penetrate deep into the skin to repair skin cells and revitalise the complexion.

I apply a thin layer of this stuff in the evening just before I go to bed and when I wake up, my skin looks brand new. I love it.

3. The Product I Use More - Clarins SOS Hydra Face Mask

I’ve preached the wonders of this face mask multiple times in blog posts, so you guys already know just how much I love it. However, I simply couldn’t write this post without featuring this little gem.

Unlike most other face masks, this one has been designed to add moisturise to the skin, rather than drying it out.

I like to apply this product to my face after I’ve exfoliated to give my complexion a deep, instant surge of moisture.

Afterwards, my skin is just so radiant and glowy. It’s fabulous!

4. The Product I Use Less - Biore Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser

I absolutely love my Biore charcoal wash and at less than a fiver, it really is an absolute bargain! However, as this product has been designed to target oiliness and in particular those that suffer from spots, I find that the formula can be a little too harsh during the chillier months.

I haven’t completely cut this product out as I love how fresh it leaves my skin feeling, but to ensure that I’m not to rough with my skin, I’ve just reduced the number of times per week that I use it.

5. The Product I Use All Year Round - Clarins Lotus Oil

If there was one skincare product I could take on a desert island with me, then this would 100% be the one I would choose.

I literally never stop banging on about this stuff, and that’s because it’s simply amazing. The formula is like magic and it completely balances out my skin. So, no matter the weather and no matter how my complexion changes as a result of the season, I will still continue to use this product religiously. It’s amazing.

So there you have it - an in-depth look at my winter skincare routine.

I really hope you enjoyed this post & I can't wait to share more with you soon! In the meantime, feel free to drop a comment in the box below - I'd love to hear about your winter skincare essentials!

Lots of love,
Grace x
