HOW TO REMOVE YOUR MAKEUP.

From strobing to contouring and baking, we’re constantly being introduced to new, innovative ways to do our makeup. But when it comes to removing our makeup, the reminders are a little less regular. And so whilst it’s great to have a perfectly-preened face ready for the day ahead, sometimes, the message regarding how important it is to properly cleanse and take our makeup off isn’t always strong enough.

Of course, things have improved in terms of how often we’re being told to wash our faces properly, but still, there are a lot of question marks and grey clouds surrounding how to take over makeup properly. Things like ‘what products should I use to remove my makeup?’ And ‘what is the best eye makeup remover?’ Are just a couple of the most common fraequently asked questions. So, for this blog post, to help clear things up a little and perfect that cleansing routine once and for all, I thought I’d answer the one thing we are all want the answer to - ‘how to remove makeup.’

Okay, so to start things off, the first thing I am going to mention is makeup wipes. Makeup wipes are a huge no-no. Aside from drying the face out, face wipes agave also been known to aggravate the skin and push fragments of makeup and bacteria deeper into the pores. So, if you want to improve the texture and appearance of your skin, as well as preventing the possibility of any acne & spots, stay away from the baby wipes!

As an alternative to those pesky wipes, I recommend bagging yourself a bottle of micellar water and some cotton wool pads.

There are now tons of skincare brands with their own micellar water products, but if I were to recommend one that’s sure to get the job done (without breaking the bank) then Garnier Micellar Water is 100% the way to go,

Garnier offers a variety of micellar water options to suit every skin type, ranging from normal to combination skin, oily skin & more. So, no matter what your skin complaints and issues may be, you’re sure to find one that suits you perfectly.

Micellar water is great for removing makeup and will effectively break down even the most stubborn eye makeup, too. But, for a thorough cleanse and to erase every last trace of cosmetics & grime, following up with a face wash is essential.

As you probably already know, face washes and face cleansers come in tons of different formulas. With everything from foaming cleansers to gel cleansers, cream cleansers and everything else in between, deciding on a formula to suit you can be very tricky indeed...

To help make this decision a little easier, I thought I'd talk to you about the cleanser that I'm currently using...

The Elf SuperClarify cleanser is one of the latest additions to my skincare routine (along with the other products from the Elf Supers Collection) and I just love it. This Elf face was foams up really nicely and always leaves my skin looking and feeling clear and refined. For best results, I follow up using the Elf Super Clarifying Toner and Elf SuperHydrate Moisturiser. Together, these products help make for the best skincare routine ever.

Disclaimer Alert: Of course, everybody's skin is different, so whilst these products work well for me, you may wish to go for something a touch milder or a little more intense to help support the natural genetics and makeup of your complexion. Simple skincare products are great for those that prefer mild formulas, meanwhile The Ordinary boasts a fabulous selection of products that target specific and stubborn skincare complaints, like acne.

To further enhance my skincare regime & get that super, squeaky-clean feeling, I massage my face wash deeper into my skin using the amazing Magnitone London XOXO Silicone Cleanser (which is currently available at just £32 instead of £40, so be sure to snap up this deal!). I'm going to do a full review of this device over the next couple of days & give you all a thorough explanation as to why this little thing is so special, so stay tuned for that!

In the meantime, though, I really hope you all enjoyed this blog post & that you found my makeup removing tips useful.
