HOW TO WHITEN YOUR TEETH WITHOUT TOOTH WHITENER - 7 WAYS TO WHITEN YOUR TEETH NATURALLY.

A gorgeous gleaming set of perfectly pearly whites - it’s something we all want. After all, a smile really is the most beautiful accessory a woman can ever wear.

But how do you make your teeth whiter? And more specifically, how do you whiten your teeth without using tooth whitener?

Tooth whitening kits and products are now more popular than ever before, and it’s no surprise, really. After all, there’s never really been more pressure to look perfect, has there?

The thing is, none of us are perfect, and as cliche as it sounds, it’s our imperfections and unique qualities that make us so special! But, with that said, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t have a beautiful white smile to flash at every opportunity! So, for this blog post, I thought I’d run through some ways to whiten your teeth without tooth whitener.

I’m actually a huge fan of tooth whitener (I'm a particularly big fan of the Philips Zoom Tooth Whitening systems), because the results are noticeable and instant. However, it’s important to not use the likes of tooth whitening bleaches and intensive tooth whitening light treatments too often. Instead, try looking to simpler, ‘everyday’ tips and tricks to keep those pearly whites looking pretty.

How To Make Your Teeth Whiter Naturally

1. Brush your teeth more often

One of the simplest and most effective ways to whiten your teeth naturally is to brush your teeth more often, and to make sure that you’re brushing them properly. A lot of people rush when they’re brushing their teeth, but it’s so important that we spent at least 2-3 minutes twice a day brushing - preferably with an electric toothbrush. Brushing our teeth is also one of the best preventative measures when it comes to keeping your teeth white and healthy.

2. Invest in a good whitening toothpaste

Following on from my first point, I thought I’d touch on the importance of buying a good quality, whitening tooth paste. I’m a huge fan of the Colgate Max White Expert Complete - the results are fantastic. Some others that are worth trying are the Arm & Hammer Charcoal White (available from Superdrug & other stores) and Oral B 3D White Luxe Perfection toothpaste. Using any of these whitening tooth pastes 2-3 times a day will work wonders on your smile.

3. Use baking soda

I’ve read some really odd tooth whitening home remedies online in the past, and as a general rule of thumb, my advice would be to take them all with a very large pinch of salt. In other words, run a mile! With that said, there is one method that does work - baking soda. Keen to whiten your teeth without whitener? Buy a pot of baking soda from the supermarket and sprinkle a little bit on your toothpaste before brushing for super-clean, whiter than white end results. Just don’t do this too often, as it can become quite abrasive.

4. Eat more fruit and veg with a high water content

As well as boasting a whole host of amazing health benefits, doling more fruit and veg will also work wonders for your looks, too! That’s right, fruit and vegetables containing a high water content will help keep your teeth looking white, bright and beautiful every day. Winner!

5. Eat white foods (especially if you have whitened you’re teeth recently)

This tip is a bit of a funny one, and perhaps not the most realistic - but if you have recently whitened your teeth and you’re hoping to maintain those fabulous results for as long as possible, then munching on white foods may be worth your while. Immediately after whitening, it’s likely that you’ll have been instructed to avoid tomato-based foods and so on, but if you’re taking things extra seriously, foods like cauliflower, milk, white bread and creamy pastas may prove your post-treatment foodie go-to’s.

6. Cut down on the caffeine

A sparkling white smile is something you can get by having your teeth whitened, but why not try preventing the stains before they actually happen, instead? Tea and coffee and two of the biggest culprits when it comes to staining our teeth, so I would advise either cutting down on caffeinated drinks, or simply making sure that you brush your teeth immediately after drinking them. I actually take my tooth brush with me to work so that I can freshen up my breath & keep those pesky stains at bay.

7. Try the oil pulling method

And finally, let’s talk about oil pulling. Oil pulling teeth whitening had a major moment on social media a couple of years ago, with brands like Cocowhite becoming a major celebrity craze.

But how does oil pulling work? And does oil pulling really work?

Okay, so when it comes to tooth whitening, oil pulling isn’t going to give you the most dramatic results. So, if your end goal is to lift your teeth by 3-4 shades, then this might not be the miracle method you’ve been hoping for. However, oil pulling is good for improving overall oral health and keeping our teeth super clean - so it’s something that we should all try to do, anyway.

How do you keep your teeth looking white and bright? I'd love to know, so be sure to drop a comment in the box below.

Until next time, lovelies.

Lots of love,
Grace x
