HOW TO HAVE THE PERFECT COSY NIGHT IN: EVERYTHING YOU NEED FOR A COSY NIGHT IN.

Autumn and winter have always been my two favourite winter seasons. Perhaps it’s because I’m a real home bird and I love all those cosy evenings spent cuddled up on the sofa. Or maybe it’s because I’m a January baby and I was brought into the world in the midst of all the chilly mornings and dark winter nights. Who knows?

There’s just something super magical about this time of year. It’s almost as if we all suddenly begin to value what’s around us more. We want to make our homes feel extra cosy & we long to spend as much time as possible with our loved ones. And of course, returning back to our snuggly sanctuaries, lighting a candle and making a proper hot chocolate is the only luxury we dream about when we’re stuck in the office.

Of course, this year is different, and the vast majority of us aren’t stuck in the office. In fact, for most - including myself - home is where we are spending pretty much all of our time right now.

Which is why it’s especially important that we feel happy and snug just where we are. Sure, it’s hard to accept that we can’t go out and do all those lovely festive things that we usually look forward to. But there’s no reason why we can’t have just as much fun from the comfort of our own living rooms and bedrooms.

For this blog post, I’m going to share my top tips for the perfect cosy night in. So, grab yourself a brew and nestle down. It’s time to talk pretty pyjamas, scented candles and everything else in between...

Snuggles with my little cutie pie

Everything You Need For The Perfect Cosy Night In

1. Pretty pyjamas

There’s nothing quite like that new pyjama feeling, so if you’re planning a lovely little cosy night in, be sure to treat yourself to some new jammies! I absolutely love Boux Avenue pyjamas and I’m a huge fan of Cyberjammies, too.

For the perfect Christmas Eve night in, these adorable Boux Avenue Candy Cane Pyjamas are an absolute must.

2. Cute slippers

From one nightwear must have to another, cute slippers are absolutely essential. I love slipper boots and fluffy slippers the best. A little bit of luxury is exactly what I’m about when it comes to nightwear.

These White Company Boucle Slipper Boots are on my Christmas list this year. They are just so cute!

3. Scented candles

Ah how I love my candles! It really is hilarious how obsessed with candles I have become since being a homeowner. Candles, cushions, throws - bring them all to me!

When it comes to candles I like scented ones the best, and I find that Yankee Candle and Woodwick Candle do the best fragrances.

This season in particular, my favourite candles are the Yankee Candle Glittering Star and Woodwick Ellipse Candle Black Cherry.

4. A snuggly blanket

I just love that feeling of being snuggled up on the sofa with a big cuddly blanket, a great film and even better company.

If you ask me, gorgeous blankets are a staple when having a cosy night in - they just effortlessly complete that super comfy, locked-away-from-the-world-outside feeling.

Wondering where to buy a beautiful throw or blanket from? The White Company is a must-shop for all things luxury autumn/winter home. I'm currently obsessed with their Luxury Wool & Cashmere Check Throw.

5. Something nice to drink

I don’t drink much alcohol (Marc and I usually share a bottle of Prosecco once every two weeks or something.) And whilst I do enjoy a flute of fizz, for me, it’s all about tea and coffee.

At this time of year, though, my favourite hot drink has to be a good old chai latte. I think cinnamon is one of those flavours that you either love or hate. Personally, I absolutely love it, and it’s so festive!

6. Yummy treats

For me, night in treats have to be a mixture of naughty and nice nibbles. I’m one of those people that eats super healthy 99% of the time but can’t say no to chocolate for love or money. So when I’m planning a cosy night in, I’ll always stock up on strawberries and grapes, but a tub of Ben & Jerry’s Phish Food and some Cadbury Chocolate Buttons are essential, too.

7. A face mask

Is there anything more satisfying than winding down of an evening with a face pack on? I have always associated face masks with having a complete switch off from everything - stress, social media... reality in general. And so as soon as I layer that clay on my face, I feel as though I’m instantly relieved of any tension. My favourite clay mask at the moment is the L'Oreal Pure Clay Detox Mask, which retails at approximately £7.99.

8. A good magazine

My mum recently subscribed me to Country Homes Magazine as a little surprise treat. And I’ve got to say, I’m just absolutely loving it.

I’m completely obsessed with country chic interiors and this magazine is just full of fabulous home decor ideas.

When I’m chilling out and having a lovely cosy evening, I love nothing more than just putting my feet up, snuggling Eric, Elvis & Marc and getting my head into my latest monthly mag.

9. Something good to watch on TV

And finally, what would a cosy autumn/winter night be without something good to watch on the telly? Movie wise, Marc and I love our psychological thrillers, but we’ve seen pretty much all of the good ones, so we’re relying on Netflix, Amazon Prime and Sky Atlantic to supply us with great series’ during the pandemic.

We’re currently living ‘The Undoing’ with Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant - it’s so good!

I really hope you all enjoyed this blog post and that you’re all keeping safe during lockdown. Sending everybody a huge virtual hug during this tough time.

Lots of love,

Grace x
