MAC FACE AND BODY FOUNDATION - MY NUMBER 1 FOUNDATION.

When it comes to makeup, we each have our own set of staple products that we use every day. The majority of us will also usually favour one brand above all others, and this brand will count for a considerable percentage of products in our makeup bags.

Let's face it, there's nothing more satisfying than discovering a makeup product that feels as though it was made especially for you. It could be a fail-safe lipgloss that you simply can't go out without, or a concealer that rescues your complexion even after a heavy night on the town.

These beautifying must-haves help to make us feel good about ourselves, and that's why we go back to them time and time again. The bottle becomes empty, and we immediately replace it. It's a cosmetic life-cycle.

There are a ton of makeup products that I swear by, and as I continue to try out more and more different things, my list of makeup bag essentials continues to grow. However, no matter how many products I try, there is only one foundation that I will possibly ever use.

Mac Face and Body Foundation.

Wow. I honestly can't even tell you how much I love this base.

Admittedly, as with all foundations and bases, this product isn't for everyone. We each have our own idea of what the 'correct' level of coverage is, or whether the end finish should be dewy or mattified. With makeup products, like most things in life, it's all very much a case of 'each to their own'.

However, for me, this foundation is perfect. In general, I like to rock a base that's a little more dewy as opposed to matte. I sometimes find that matte foundations can look a little heavy on my skin, and I always seem to feel a lot more aware of the product sitting on the surface of my skin, which I really don't like.

Dewy foundations on the other hand help to provide me with a nice, fresh, radiant complexion, and the MAC Face and Body Foundation is pretty much the perfect product for the job.

The MAC Face and Body Foundation, which is available in a multitude of different shades, is a water based, fluid foundation with a sheer coverage. During the day, this product is ideal for an instant, natural-looking radiance boost - great for those who, like me, don't like the feeling of a heavy, full-coverage foundation sitting on their skin.

And it's great for evening wear, too! What's brilliant about this foundation is that you can dress it up or down to your own personal preference. In the day time, I will usually use just one pea-sized blob of fluid to cover my whole face, whereas in the evening, I will apply up to 50% more.

Another fantastic thing about this foundation is how long the bottles last for. Unless you are applying a really large quantity of fluid to your face every day, one bottle should last you a fair few months. I'm just about coming to the end of the bottle that I bought in early May, so it's lasted me well over 5 months - and considering I use the product pretty much every day, I'd say that's pretty good going.

For the ultimate, perfect base, I team this foundation with a cocktail of my favourite concealers...
