AUTUMN SKINCARE MUST-HAVES.

The days are officially becoming very short and the nights very long - and the temperature has already dropped drastically since we first stepped into Autumn. With the leaves falling from the trees and the cold nights settling in, it's time to start thinking about Autumn/Winter skincare, and the products we should be using to prevent dry and chapped skin.

During the latter part of the year when the temperature is much cooler and we begin to experience sleet and snow showers, our skin begins to change. For me, the biggest difference in my skin at this time of year is how much dryer my skin feels. Most of the time, with the odd exception, my complexion tends to stay pretty 'normal', but around about now, I do begin to notice a decline in how my skin looks and feels.

This year, though, I'm determined to be prepared, so that I can prevent any skin issues. This will involve a slight switch-up in routine, starting with lots more moisturiser.

Generally speaking, I don't apply tons of cream to my face. I tend to prefer oils - particularly the Daily Reviving and Midnight Recovery Concentrates from Kiehl's - they're just amazing. Now though, I'm beginning to introduce a moisturising cream on top of these oils. The Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream is my favourite moisturiser, and I'm hoping it's going to give my skin that extra surge of moisture it needs to stay fresh and supple.

My next Autumn/Winter skincare essential is the La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume. I know I'm constantly banging on about this product, but honestly, it really is absolutely amazing. If I was askeds to describe this product in just one word, I would say 'repairing', because it really does just repair the skin. It's like magic. As the name suggests, this product isn't simply a cream, it's a balm. It's rich and intense and although you can feel it on the surface of your skin, it sinks in magically. On the nights where I apply this before bed, I always notice a huge difference in my skin in the morning - it just looks bright and fresh. This is an absolute must-have at this time of year.

The next product on my Autumn/Winter skincare list is the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish. I've been using this cult classic on and off for years, and I don't think I'll ever fall out of love with it. Recently, I've been using the La Roche Posay Effaclar Cleansing Gel and the Kiehl's Ultra Facial, but towards the end of the year, I always revert back to Cleanse and Polish. The reason being is that this cleanser is so gentle and soft, and it literally melts away makeup and grime without any fuss whatsoever. I love that this product is so creamy as it feels like it's nourishing the skin as it cleanses, and for how long the tube lasts, it's actually very good value for money, too.

And finally, this one is less of skincare essential and more of a lipcare essential - Vaseline. At the moment, I'm loving the pink bubbly version. It's every so slightly tinted and smells amazing. Ah, I just love it.

I hope you loved this blog post as much as I loved writing it!

Lots of love,
Grace
