For me, eye makeup is a very strange thing indeed. Whilst I couldn’t be without my Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara, my urge to invest more time and money into the more exciting side of eye makeup has always been fairly non-existent. To put things simply, I’m, more of a lip girl than an eye girl. Make me choose between a brand new MAC lipstick and a NARS eyeliner and I’ll pick the lipstick every time, no questions asked.
I guess in a way, eye makeup is out of my comfort zone. I like lipsticks and I get which lipsticks suit me. Eye makeup is a whole different kettle of fish, and I’ll be honest, my thick, jet black eyeliner days are a not-so-fond makeup memory that I try my best to never think about.
The only thing is, when I see eye makeup tutorials online, and I look at just how amazing eye makeup can look, I do get a little itch. An itch to know more about eye makeup and how to do a good job of it. So, prior to my work Christmas party, I decided to bite the bullet and invest in a brand new eyeshadow palette full of amazing colours that I could try and test in my bedroom.
The NYX Warm Neutrals palette was a steal at just £16 for a whole spectrum of stunning browns, golds and burgundies. And you know what? I don’t want to speak too soon, but I’d say that my skills have improved already.
As I have brown eyes, and as I’m not the type of person to wear any crazy or experimental colours, I always sway to more natural shades, which is why this palette appealed to me so much. I think it’s really unusual to come across a palette that genuinely doesn’t contain one colour you dislike, but I honestly love all the shades in this palette – they’re just so pretty.
And they all work together really well.
I’ve been playing around with various shades from the palette, creating various nude/brown/gold eye looks that are perfect for the festive season, and I’m so pleased with my progress!
For me, this palette is an absolute bargain and a must have for anyone who loves their nudes! Have a play around with the palette and finish off the look with a fine lick of liquid eyeliner and lashings of jet black mascara.
I really hope you enjoyed this post and I can’t wait to share more with you soon!
Lots of love,
Grace x
