HOW TO APPLY SKINCARE PRODUCTS (WE'VE BEEN DOING IT ALL WRONG).

As most of you will already know, skincare is really important to me. In fact, I’d say that skincare is even more important to me than makeup. I know - bold statement to make, right?

The thing is, in my opinion, and I am guessing the majority of you will agree, a good skincare regimen makes for a fantastic base for any makeup look. Sure, lumps, bumps and imperfections can be concealed, and sometimes, there’s no avoiding those pesky blemishes (bloody hormones) but by treating your skin to some great products, and maintaining a balanced, healthy lifestyle, your skin will totally thank you for it.

Now I’m passionate about both aspects of skincare - I like to eat and drink healthily, but I also like to try and test products...hence why I’m so passionate about beauty blogging! And I have to say, I do like to think I know a thing or two about skincare, but a recent revelation in the world of beauty suggests that a lot of us may be doing something crucially wrong. Something so simple, but so important.

According to Japanese beauty experts, the way in which we are applying our lotions and potions is totally wrong. Whilst the vast majority of us are massaging and rubbing in our products, these Japanese beauty gurus - who are known for their fabulous looking skin - are patting the products in instead.

That’s right - patting.

The patting method is supposedly a much more effective way of applying creams and lotions, as it encourages the circulation of blood and stimulates the production of collagen. In a nutshell, by patting your products in and giving your skin a bit of light tapping, you can supposedly make yourself look younger and more fabulous.

I don’t know about you, but this whole thing has kind of blown my mind. I thought I knew everything there was to know about skincare, but apparently not. This could, of course, be a load of rubbish, but having read a bunch of different articles on this topic, i am starting to think that there could be some truth in all of this.

And I can’t wait to put this method to the test!

What do you think? Is this ‘patting’ trend just a silly fad, or could this be the biggest skincare game-changer, well, ever? Drop a comment in the box below - I would love to hear your thoughts.

Until next time, beauties!

Lots of love,
Grace x
