This is something that I have learnt more about over the last 12 months or so.
I've always prided myself on the fact that I know quite a lot about makeup and the plethora of incredible brands that are out there, but, if I'm completely honest, I haven't always been the best at applying makeup.
For me, concealer in particular is a product that I know full-well I haven't always applied 'correctly'. Of course, there is no 'correct' or 'right' way to apply makeup - we all kind of make up our own rules and discover what does and doesn't work for us personally. However, what I have learnt is that concealer should look flawless. It should blend seamlessly with your foundation and it should illuminate the areas that you want to go. Imperfections should be perfected and there should be no 'obvious' signs that you're wearing it.
Ultimately, concealer should brighten your complexion and leave you glowing.
And right now, there's no product I am more reliant on than the amazing Miracle Complexion Sponge from Real Techniques. I'm a huge fan of Real Techniques brushes, but it wasn't until my mum bought a packet of two of these sponges that I actually tried my blender. I've been forever grateful ever since. It's just amazing.
Expertly designed, the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge has been specially engineered by the beauty gurus at Real Techniques to do, well, exactly what it says on the tin, really - give you a miracle complexion.
And boy oh boy does it deliver the goods.
This handy little sponge is fast-becoming my favourite beauty accessory, and I've already recommended it to so many people. It's amazing.
For best results, I use with my incredible MAC Pro Longwear Concealer. I start by pumping a pea-sized blob of concealer onto the ball of my hand, before lightly dipping the pointed end of the sponge into the concealer and dotting onto my face.
I tend to focus mostly on my under-eyes and next to my nose. I find that applying concealer in these areas helps to create a glowy effect, illuminating the skin and creating a fresh, radiant complexion.
When applying, I carefully pat the sponge - no wiping or dragging. A light patting effect helps keep things looking natural, yet seamless. By patting in the product, you'll find that everything just blends together flawlessly - no lines or stripes, and no 'tell-tale' makeup signs. As I said earlier, concealer should perfect your complexion, but there should be no obvious sign that makeup has been used to create that effect.
The Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge retails at just £5.99, but if you buy a pack of 2 of more, the price per sponge works out quite a bit cheaper. Personally, I'd recommend stocking up. Take it from me, you're going to love this product, so why not save yourself a bit of £££ in the long run?!
I really hope you enjoyed this post and I can't wait to share more with you soon.
Have a lovely week!
Lots of love,
Grace x
