MY FAVOURITE MAC LIPSTICKS THIS SPRING.

As the seasons change, so does our style, and as our style changes, so does our makeup. During the winter months, berry reds, pretty plums and mysterious mauves are all colours that we are naturally drawn towards, but now that Spring has finally sprung, it's time to reintroduce some lighter, brighter shades.

In general, I do tend to prefer lighter shades than I do darker ones when it comes to lipstick. I like my complexion to look fresh and youthful, and I find that deeper tones can have an adverse effect. For this reason, Spring and Summer makeup looks are much more 'me'. I love all the peaches, pinks and nudes that circulate at this time, and right now, there are a few lipstick shades that I simply can't get enough of.

As brands go, MAC has always been my ultimate lipstick go-to. The variety of shades, textures and finishes that MAC create is just on a whole different level. Whether you're wanting a crazy, wacky electric blue, or a soft, neutral, everyday pink, MAC is pretty much a safe bet in any case.

And this Spring, there have been three shades in particular that have really taken my fancy. So, for this blog post, I thought I would share this trusty trio with you all. Who knows? Maybe you'll find your Springtime go-to lippie right here!

MAC Creme Cup

This is my current everyday lipstick. I've used Creme Cup so many times in the past, but until I recently reinvested, I almost completely forgot just how beautiful it is. A soft, creamy shade of pink, this lipstick has undertones of blue, and it just looks so pretty on! I think this lipstick could be worn on pretty much any skintone, but I particularly love it when I've got a tan. To perfect my pout, I line my lips with MAC Whirl or NYX Soft Spoken (NYX Soft Spoken is an amazing dupe of MAC Whirl!)

MAC Shy Girl

Oh I just love this lipstick. With strong peachy undertones, this lipstick is definitely a Spring/Summer shade. I actually wear this lipstick more in Summer, but since the weather has picked up (a little), I've been wearing it a lot more frequently. I find that MAC Shy Girl looks best when paired with MAC Spice liner. I start by over-lining my lips with spice, before filling in with Shy Girl. This helps to create the look of a fuller, more kissable pout.

MAC Freckletone

I first discovered MAC Freckletone about 18 months ago. It's a beautiful, sheer shade with orange and peachy undertones, and it's just perfect for Springtime. In general, I do tend to prefer glossier, more 'sheeny' looking lipsticks, and that's exactly what MAC Freckletone is. When applied to the lips, it leaves a lovely, soft, shiny finish that reflects the light and just looks so beautiful. As with any lipstick, depending on the liner you pair it with, this lipstick can look drastically different. Personally, my favourite liner to wear with MAC Freckletone is MAC Boldly Bare, which is pretty much the most perfect nude liner ever. Gorgeous.

So there you have it, my top three MAC lipsticks this Spring! If you're looking to give your pout a swift style update, I urge you to try one (or all) of these shades - they're just gorgeous.

I really hope you all enjoyed this blog post and I can't wait to share more with you soon.

I hope you're all having a fabulous April!

Lots of love,
Grace x
