WHAT IS THE BEST HOTEL IN THE COTSWOLDS? MY STAY AT THE LYGON ARMS.

Working full time and juggling all the other chores and demands of every day life means that I'm often pushed for time to spend on myself and doing nice things with people I love. I always make sure that I get out over the weekend, even if it's just for a nice coffee with my mum, but until this weekend just gone, it had been a long while since I'd had a proper break from reality.

Taking some proper time out from doing the laundry and cooking the tea, I made plans with one of my best friends and for once, actually stuck to them. I say that simply because - I don't know about you - but I find that as I've gotten older, the ability to commit to plans and not cancel has become increasingly difficult. Something always comes up, doesn't it?

This time though, I was determined not to let anything get in the way.

In all honesty, there are very few things in life that can come between me and luxury spa weekend at the best of times, but this weekend was particularly special as we were visiting somewhere I've wanted to go to for ages - The Cotswolds!

My friend Sophia and I rarely get to see each other as we live in totally different parts of the country. We met at university in Worcester, but she lives in Leamington Spa and I live in Manchester, which makes it particularly difficult to make plans. It would be great to see each other more, but we've both come a long way since our wild uni days, and as a result, we've both got lots of other commitments to consider.

So, as you can imagine, when Sophia and I make plans to see each other, it becomes somewhat of a military operation. We plan everything months in advance and we try to arrange the weekend so that we can spend two nights together as opposed to just one. This time, it was my turn to head into her neck of the woods, so I took the train from Manchester to Leamington Spa straight after work on Friday night, and then we both drove down to the Cotswolds on Saturday morning for our stay at the stunning Lygon Arms in Broadway.

I've wanted to visit The Cotswolds for years, so as we drove through the winding country lanes and beautiful yellow stone cottages, it almost felt a little surreal. I'd seen tons of photographs of The Cotswolds online, but this was the first time I'd seen it all in the flesh, and it was even more beautiful in real life. I was trying to take everything in as much as I could, but I couldn't help getting a little snap-happy with my phone. It was too pretty not to share!

And our home for the night was just as beautiful vistas surrounding us.

Famed for its historical build, premium spa facilities and idyllic surround, The Lygon Arms is a luxury spa hotel located in the picturesque village of Broadway, The Cotswolds, and if you ever get the chance, I urge you to go. The building itself was constructed hundreds of years ago, back in the Tudor times, and whilst the decor has all been kept very traditionally English, you can tell that there has been some renovation work. The look and feel of the building fits in perfectly with its backdrop, and I was genuinely blown away with how beautiful everything was - so much so in fact that I immediately FaceTime'd my family as soon as we checked into our room!

I love having a little bit of luxury in my life, and The Lygon Arms was exactly that. From the beautiful decor of the bedrooms, to the immaculate Cotswold spa and cosy dining areas, my visit to, in my opinion, the best hotel in the Cotswolds, was pretty much everything I could have hoped for, plus a little bit more!

I would love to see this Cotswolds hotel at Christmas time - the rooftop sprinkled with a dusting of snow and bedecked with fabulous festive touches both inside and out.

I really hope that you enjoyed this blog post & I can't wait to share more with you soon.

Lots of love,
Grace x
