Spa breaks are 100% my favourite thing to do when I feel as though I need to take a break from reality and give both my mind and body a rest. The first time I ever went to a spa was in between leaving one job and starting another. I felt as though I needed to properly refresh myself before launching myself into a brand new challenge, and just having that time to recuperate and recharge was priceless.

The spa that my family, Marc and I go to is The Mere Golf Resort and Spa in Knutsford, Cheshire - you can read more about my favourite spa resort in my blog post 'A Luxury Spa Break At The Mere Golf Resort & Spa'. We probably go about 3 or 4 times a year and we absolutely love it there. For us, it’s our switch off time and during our stay, we all agree to block out any of life’s everyday stresses and just enjoy chilling out and making the most of the great facilities.
I think it’s honestly just so important to be able to allow yourself some real ‘you time’ and to understand how valuable that is - to read more about enjoying 'you time' check out my post: 'The Importance Of Me Time'. For many of us, focusing solely on ourselves and our own health, well-being and happiness is an afterthought rather than a priority, and this so shouldn’t be the case! So, in this blog post, I thought I’d share with you all the reasons I believe a spa weekend is just what you need right now. I hope you enjoy.
Why A Spa Break Is Just What You Need
1. You Feel Exhausted
Oh yep, I hear you! Feeling exhausted is totally normal, but equally, it’s a sign that you’ve probably been working a little too hard and you haven’t been allowing yourself to recharge. Book yourself a spa weekend and count down the days until you can put your feet up and enjoy all the those amazing spa facilities. And if you really feel like treating yourself, book a treatment, too! Massages are great for de-stressing.

2. You Can't Remember The Last Time You Relaxed
If your idea of relaxing is watching Coronation Street for 30 minutes before serving up the dinner, then it’s about time you gave yourself a little more credit! Sometimes, 30 minutes sat in front of the TV is just what we need to switch off a little, but in the grand scheme of things, TV really isn’t the answer.
You deserve a proper break from reality and if you can’t remember the last time you were completely stress-free and loving life, it’s time to get yourself in the spa. I strongly recommend looking at Spa Breaks - they have some fabulous deals on spas across the UK and there are just so many wonderful places to choose from!

3. You Are Irritable and Short Fused
I don’t know about you, but when I’m tired and feeling a little run-down, I’m always more irritable and I find myself getting wound up by even the smallest of things. If this is something you’re now reading and thinking ‘yep, I can relate to that’, it’s most certainly time that you took a break. Ultimately, if you are feeling tired and run-down, you are likely to take this out on someone close and then you’ll end up feeling doubly bad about things. Don’t allow it to get to that! It’s time to reunite yourself with the real you - the happy-go-lucky, spontaneous and fun-loving you that you sometimes feel you don’t have the time to be. A spa weekend is only ever a few short clicks away so get booking!
4. You Are Physically Aching
Aches and pains are one thing that we have all experienced at one time or another, but if you’re feeling increasingly uncomfortable and those occasional pains and becoming much more frequent, then a spa break is just what you need.
Steam rooms, saunas and jacuzzi's are all great for relaxing your body and they’ll leave you feeling so refreshed. Also, if you can afford to spare a little extra cash, book yourself in for a massage, too. I’m yet to try a hot stone massage, but I’ve had back massages with oils and they are just fabulous. I promise you’ll feel brand new afterwards!

5. You Relate To All The Points In This Post
And finally, if you’re reading this blog post and can relate to every single point I have made, then you must 100% get one booked! If you are from the North West, there are many great spas to visit, but for me, the best has to be The Mere Golf Resort and Spa in Knutsford. I also visited The Lygon Arms, Broadway with my friend Sophia not long ago too, which was great, too, so if you’re not too far from The Cotswolds, this place is a must-visit. If you'd like to read more about my stay at The Lygon Arms, be sure to check out my blog post ''A Night In The Cotswolds: My Stay at The Lygon Arms.'
I really hope you enjoyed this blog post and I can’t wait to share more with you soon!
Happy spa-ing!
Lots of love,
Grace x
