Unsure of where to go to get your foodie fix? No problem. I’ve pulled together 9 of the best restaurants in Manchester that are guaranteed to make for a totally dreamy date night. So, without any further ado...

1. Australasia

Chic and upscale, Australasia is, without question, one of the very best venues to celebrate a special occasion. Be it a birthday or an anniversary, with its wealth of Japanese and Indonesian-influenced dishes, together with luxurious, plush surround, Australasia is sure to make things extra special for you. As well as it’s fabulous food offering and beautiful interiors, Australasia also boasts an extensive cocktail and mocktail menu, together with a vast choice of beers, wines and spirits. Personally, my go-to tipple has to be the Kiwi & Honey Crush cocktail, so if you’re in need of some drink-spiration, then be sure to give this splendid sip a go!

3. Rosso Restaurant & Bar

If you and your other half have got a taste for the finer things in life, and you want to know where the rich and famous dine when they come to Manchester, then Rosso is the place to go. Owned by Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand, and situated in chic and sophisticated Spring Gardens, Rosso is both fabulous and friendly in equal measure. The food is great, the staff are wonderful and the restaurant itself is simply picture-perfect. As a top tip, I’d urge anybody reading this article to pay a trip to Rosso during the festive season. This lavish restaurant doesn’t do Christmas by halves - in fact, you’d be hard pushed to find an eatery with better Christmas decorations anywhere else in the city. It’s just magical.

If you prefer a more laid back atmosphere, then Evuna in Manchester’s quirky Northern Quarter is 100% the way to go. My best friends and I actually went for lunch at Evuna on the day of my hen do and it was such a lovely way to start the fun! What with the delicious wine, sangria and incredible range of dishes, we were completely spoilt! I particularly love the Creamy Paprika Chicken, so be sure to give that a try when you go!

6. San Carlo Bottega

Located in selfridges, exchange square, this restaurant has been a firm favourite of mine for years now, and it’s always the first place on my mum and I’s list for food when we go to town. There are just so many things I love about Bottega. From the lovely staff, to the delicious food and the beautiful views of Exchange Square, it’s just such a wonderful place to be. I particularly love coming here at Christmas time when the Manchester Christmas Markets are on - it’s the perfect place to retreat to & escape the madness for a couple of hours, but you can continue to take in that glorious festive atmosphere as you peer outside. What’s more, the beautiful Christmas decorations in San Carlo Bottega are sure to get you into the festive spirit - they’re so chic & pretty!

Luxurious yet cosy and situated right in the heart of stylish Spring Gardens, Grand Pacific is the ideal location for your date night. There’s a real sense of grandeur about Grand Pacific, and from the moment you step foot in the door, the experience is just so special. It’s not all about the fabulous interiors, though, this place owes its success to its wonderful staff, incredible menu and friendly, warm atmosphere.

8. Asha’s

Sometimes, all you need in this life is a delicious, tasty curry, and when it comes to combining scrumptious comfort food with a chic & elegant surround, Asha’s Manchester is, without question, the best in the game. With a wealth of celebrity fans and followers, this place is particularly popular with the rich and famous - even Ed Sheehan treated his entourage to a dinner at Asha’s! But make no mistake, whilst this restaurant attracts wealthy customers, the food is still affordable.

9. Harvey Nichols Second Floor Bar & Brasserie

And finally, I simply couldn’t finish up this list without mentioning Harvey Nichols. Marc, my parents and I have been visiting the Harvey Nichols Second Floor Bar & Brasserie for years now, and we still love it just as much as we did on that very first visit. Sleek and glamorous, you’d be forgiven for assuming that the Harvey Nichols restaurant would cost a fortune to eat at, but in actual fact, the prices are reasonable, and the food is always absolutely faultless. When eating at Harvey Nichols, I like to grab a window seat so that I can watch what’s going on in & around town - the views of Exchange Square & trendy New Cathedral Street are fantastic!
