Mother’s Day is fast approaching (if you’re wondering ‘when is mother’s day 2020?’ it’s Sunday 22nd March this year), so now is the time to start thinking of gift ideas that will make her feel super special - because let’s face it, she is!
My mum is without a shadow of a doubt, my best friend in the whole wide world and I love that there is one day each and every year that I can dedicate solely to her and all the fabulousness she exudes. So, for this blog post, I thought I’d round up the best Mother’s Day gifts that are sure to leave your leading lady smiling from ear to ear.

So, for this blog post, I thought I’d round up the best Mother’s Day gifts that are sure to leave your leading lady smiling from ear to ear.
Mother’s Day presents the perfect opportunity to treat your mum (step mum, half mother, grandma or whoever else!) like a queen. And what better way to share the love than with a gorgeous gift? Be it a luxury spa weekend (yes please!), a beautiful Mother’s Day bouquet or a bottle of her best-loved perfume, with a little help from me, you’re sure to find the perfect present for your mum right here. So, without any further ado, let’s talk Mother’s Day gift ideas…
1. Flowers

My bridal bouquet and bridesmaids bouquets from my wedding. Flowers make for such a fabulous & beautiful gift! |
Picking up a bunch of gorgeous blooms is pretty easy in the run-up to Mother’s Day, with supermarkets such as ASDA, Tesco and Waitrose offering lots of beautiful options. However, if you prefer to choose something a little more bespoke or something that can be delivered straight to her door, the likes of Bloom & Wild, EFlorist and Prestige Flowers are must-shops.
2. Jewellery
Let’s face it, what woman doesn’t love to receive jewellery? Be it a new ladies necklace or a delicate silver bracelet, us girls will never say no to a gorgeous piece of jewellery. So, if you’re wondering what’s a good gift for Mother’s Day, then a touch of sparkle is 100% the way to go.
Joma Jewellery is one of my favourite jewellery brands at the moment. All of the pieces are just so beautiful and there are lots of occasion-specific styles to choose from - like the stunning Joma Jewellery A Little Mother’s Day Bracelet.
Other lovely jewellery brands that are worth checking out include Monica Vinader (I am obsessed with Monica Vinader jewellery, and so is my mum!) and Lisa Edwards Jewellery.
3. Spa Break
If you’re looking to seriously spoil your mum this March 22nd, then perhaps you should treat her to a Mother’s Day spa break?! The perfect opportunity to relax and unwind, a luxury spa day will give you the chance to spend some good quality one on one time with your mum, all whilst taking a breather from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Now that's how you say 'Happy Mother's Day' in style.
My mum and I both love to indulge in a spa day. Our favourite spa is The Mere Golf Resort & Spa - we have been so many times and it’s just wonderful. We’re also really keen to pay a visit to the Titanic Spa Huddersfield, which is supposed to be absolutely amazing.
4. Pyjamas
Is there anything more heart-warming and satisfying than pulling on a new pair of pyjamas and settling down for a cosy night in? My mum and I are obsessed with that new pyjama feeling, and I’m pretty sure we aren’t alone. So, if you’re wondering ‘what should I do for my mum for Mother’s Day?’ then my advice would be to buy her some gorgeous new pj’s and some of her favourite sweet treats (or savoury treats!) to snack on whilst she winds down.
Some of my favourite places to buy pyjamas include Boux Avenue and SHEIN - they’ve got loads of lovely styles to choose from.
5. Perfume
Another fail-safe Mother’s Day present idea that she’s sure to love is perfume. Whenever I buy my mum a new perfume, I instantly make a beeline for Jo Malone. What I love about shopping for fragrances with Jo Malone is the fact that the whole experience, from start to finish, is luxurious. The staff in Jo Malone are so attentive and helpful, and you really are made to feel like a VIP. My mum’s favourite perfume is the Jo Malone Grapefruit Cologne.
Some other women’s fragrances that have gained my mum’s seal of approval over the years include Paco Rabanne Lady Million, Dolce & Gabbana L’Imperatrice, Coach Eau de Parfum and Zara Gourmand Addict.
6. Beauty Products
Makeup, skincare and bath & body products all make for great Mother’s Day gifts, and ahead of the big day itself, you’ll find that lots of beauty brands retail gift sets at special prices, or there will be incentives for spending a certain amount of money and so on.
Some of the luxury beauty brands I'm really loving at the moment include Bobbi Brown, NARS and Charlotte Tilbury.
7. Handbags
If your mum has a soft spot for all things lavish and luxurious, then why not make her Mother’s Day extra magical by treating her to a beautiful new designer handbag? Or if you’re on a tighter budget, perhaps a designer purse or makeup bag instead?
Designer bags come in all shapes and sizes, and the price point of such purchases varies drastically, too. My advice would be to carefully consider your budget and base your research on that. If money is no object (lucky you!) then I’m sure your lovely mum will be more than made up with a lovely new Louis Vuitton bag. If on the other hand you’ve got a £100-300 budget, try turning your attention to brands such as Ted Baker, DKNY, Michael Kors & Coach.
Also as a top tip, when shopping for a new designer handbag, it’s always a good idea to head to your closest designer outlet. Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet and Bicester Village are both well worth a visit.
8. Coffee Machines
If your mum is anything like mine, she takes pleasure in the little things in life - a frothy, freshly-brewed coffee being one of them. So, if you’re stuck for Mother’s Day present ideas and your mum has a soft spot for creamy caffeinated drinks, then a coffee machine may just prove the perfect pressie.
I absolutely love the Smeg coffee machines, but at over £300, should you choose to buy one, it’ll certainly set you back a pretty penny. Some slightly more affordable alternatives include The Morphy Richards Vector Pour Over Coffee Machine and the Swan Retro Pump Espresso and Coffee Machine. Your mum is bound to be happy with any of these coffee makers this Mothering Sunday!
9. Chocolate
Let's face it, what woman doesn't love receiving a box of chocolates?! Whether it's a special occasion or not, an extra large box of chocs from Hotel Chocolat or Thorntons always goes down a treat. Fail-safe Mother's Day gifting at its finest.
I really hope you all enjoyed this blog post & that you're feeling suitably inspired ahead of Mother's Day 2020!!
Until next time.
Lots of love,
Grace x
