HOW TO BE CLASSY & FABULOUS.

In what has become one of the most famous quotes pretty much of all time, fashion mogul Coco Chanel stated 'A girl should be two things - classy and fabulous.'

And how right she was!

I think being classy and fabulous means different things to different people, but ultimately, it's about walking with pride, oozing confidence and rising above the bull s***.

As I've gotten older, I've become so much more confident about who I am as a person. I'm no longer afraid to say no to people and I've stopped allowing other people's negative opinions to affect my mood. The latter has been particularly challenging as negativity is just so catching and it's all too easy to get swept up in that toxicity.

Fortunately, I am content & happy with where I'm at and who I am, and like I say, I tend not to dwell on the drama quite as much as I used to do - and I'd urge you to do the same. The way I see it is that if people are talking about you, or they're going out of there way to get a rise out of you or bring you down in some way, they are clearly very bitter, possibly jealous and evidently lack contentment in their own lives.

YOU are are way too busy being classy and fabulous to care what other people think! Well, you will be once you've read this blog post, anyway!

Your go-to guide for living your best life, below I have listed my top tips on how to be classy and fabulous. I really hope you enjoy!

Always be classy & fabulous!

1. Be Organised

If you want to become a super classy & fabulous woman, it's essential that you're organised. Why? Because being organised is crucial to getting your life together.

Things like owning a diary and writing in it every single day, having spreadsheets for finances and keeping the space around you tidy & organised will help keep your mind clear, allowing more time to be fabulous.

I find that keeping a diary is particularly beneficial to me as this really enables me to track my progress, note down ideas and just keep my life in check in general.

2. Adopt a Great Skincare Regime

If you haven't already, then now is absolutely the perfect time to start taking care of your skin. I honestly just can't even imagine not having a proper skincare routine, as this part of my day really does make a huge difference to how I feel about myself.

The bare basics and a great place to start would be to invest in a cleanser, toner and a moisturiser. These three products will help keep your skin looking and feeling fabulous day in and day out. However, if you really want to optimise your skincare regime, then it's a good idea to look at additional products, too.

I find that using a mask once or twice a week, alongside a good facial exfoliator, face oils and serums is exactly what my skin needs to radiate and glow.

If you'd like to know more about the skincare products I love & the order in which I apply them, be sure to check out my blog post 'My Evening Skincare Routine.'

Every woman should make time for a good skincare routine

3. Eat a Healthy, Well-Balanced Diet

I don't know about you, but when I don't eat well, I don't feel great, either, Fatty, greasy and sugary foods are fine in moderation, but when consumed in excess, they tend to make us feel pretty lousy.

A healthy, well-balanced diet, on the other hand, is sure to leave you feeling energised and refreshed - which is a major part of becoming classy and fabulous.

Taking care of your body in general is incredibly attractive and admirable, as it shows that you respect your body & that you value your health and the way you look. So, if you feel as though your diet isn't quite as healthy as it should be, it's time to stock up on fruit and vegetables!

Smoothies are great for an instant health boost - I'm always making them!

4. Exercise Regularly

Tying into my last point, if you really want to commit to taking better care of your mind, body & soul, then it's crucial that you exercise regularly.

Staying in shape is really important to me as I love to feel body confident - and I think I speak for the majority of people when I say that I always feel better when I'm active.

Exercising more frequently will not only benefit the way your body looks and feels, but how you feel mentally, too. I'm a really anxious person, and I find that one of the most effective ways to control my anxiety is by staying active.

5. Discover Your Own Style

Establishing your own unique sense of style is such a huge part of being a classy and fabulous woman. It’s all about understanding your body and being able to identify the styles and cuts that compliment your physique, and this is something that can take time. I know that I’ve certainly had my fair share of trial and error in this department...

Now though, I feel as though I have finally gotten to grips with my style.

My fashion sense has evolved drastically over the years, but I finally feel as though I’m getting it right - and knowing that I’m wearing clothes that look good on my body is so refreshing!

I’m pregnant at the moment and so I’m not wearing the clothes that I would normally. When baba is here though, I’ll be back in my skinny jeans, pointed court shoes, high neck tops and tweed blazers. For me, this look is completely unbeatable.

6. Get a Gel Manicure

I’ve been doing my own gel nails for years now, and I’m just obsessed. A fresh gel manicure instantly makes me feel more fabulous and of course, look more fabulous, too!

Obviously the style in which you get your nails done is completely personal to you, and if you love all the crazy embellishments and crazy glitters & long tips, then you do you - I salute you! However, if you really want to nail that classy look (please pardon the pun), id recommend keeping your nails that little bit shorter and steering clear of anything too over-the-top. I’m not a huge fan of the super pointy acrylic nails that are loaded with embellishments as I think there’s the tendency to look a little bit tacky. Again though, this is a personal choice and if you love that look, then don’t let me dissuade you from doing what makes you feel great - we can’t all be the same.

This was the set I did myself the other day. All of my gel polishes are from Candy Coat

7. Refresh Your Makeup Bag

If I’m ever having a down day or I’m lacking motivation, I take extra time to do my makeup. Wearing makeup makes me feel great about myself and instantly lifts my mood. So, if you’re on a mission to be more classy and fabulous, a little makeup bag overhaul is a great place to start.

You may feel as though you’re tired of the products you’ve been using, or you may just have a short list of products that you’ve been meaning to try out. Either way, now is the time to get yourself online and order some beautiful new cosmetics.

Also, if you have the budget for it, I would recommend treating yourself to some luxury makeup products. There’s something really wonderful about using expensive products - even if you just have a couple of them. A few of my favourite luxury cosmetic brands include NARS, Charlotte Tilbury and MAC.

9. Find a Signature Scent - And Always Wear It!

Discovering a perfume that you absolutely love is such a great feeling, and for me, plays a pinnacle role in becoming that classy, fabulous woman you’re aspiring to be.

When you have a signature scent, people soon recognise it - and it becomes a part of who you are and what you’re about. It’s a constant and something that will always complete your look.

My signature fragrance is Giorgio Armani Si. I love how timeless and classy this perfume is. Just a couple of spritzes and I instantly feel more chic and sophisticated. Dreamy.

Just a quick FYI, if you’re on a budget, it’s well worth checking out the ZARA perfume collection. They are so affordable and you’ll find that the scents often mimic pricey designer fragrances. My favourite perfume from ZARA is the Gourmand Addict - it’s so good.

10. Always Be Kind & Gracious

Being perfectly polite towards everyone is no easy feat - particularly when there are so many difficult and often rude people out there! However, if you can rise above it & remain ladylike at all times, you will 100% be the bigger person.

If someone is rude or cheeky or disrespectful towards you, but you can completely keep your cool, you will not only look fabulous & classy, but you will also remind them that their opinion is completely irrelevant. You are way too fabulous to be phased by this irrelevant person. End of.

11. Read Regularly

And finally, I think it’s so important to read regularly. In reading regularly, you will be subconsciously learning new things all the time. Motivational books are great, but if you’re looking for something a little lighter to get you started, try finding a magazine that focuses on something that genuinely interests you. I love reading about beauty, mental health, wellbeing and interior design.

I so hope you all enjoyed this blog post & I can’t wait to share more with you all very soon.

Stay classy and fabulous, always!

Lots of love,
Grace x
