HOW TO REMOVE FAKE TAN.

Fake tan - you either love it, or you hate it. Personally, I love it. Having a tan gives me confidence and instantly makes me feel sexier - but there’s absolutely no way I’d lounge in the sun for hours burning to a crisp in order to get my glow. Instead, I turn to the bottle.

The fake tan bottle, that is (although a Prosecco would be lovely if I wasn’t 32 weeks pregnant.)

I’ve been fake tanning for over 10 years now and for me, the tangerine-tinted days are truly a thing of the past (thank the lord.) Fake tan formulas are just so much better than they used to be and now, rocking a natural-looking golden glow without abusing the UV rays is possible for everyone. So, if you’re still using sun beds, it’s time to ask yourself why.

Anyway, enough of the preaching. I don’t need to spend hours going on about how much I love my signature faux glow - because you all already know! Instead, today I’m going to talk about how to remove fake tan.

Any seasoned fake tan addict will know the struggle, but with a little help and guidance from yours truly, you’ll finally be able to learn how to take fake tan off without making your skin sore.

It’s time to put down the exfoliation gloves and set aside that homemade sugar scrub. From
This day forward, the only thing you truly need to remove your old fake tan is the St Tropez Tan Build Up Remover Mitt

These are a couple of my favourite products from St Tropez right now

I toyed with whether or not to buy this product for a few days before I finally took the plunge. It’s super affordable (I paid £6 from Lookfantastic) but I hate feeling like I’ve wasted my money on something that wasn’t worth it, so I made sure I read plenty reviews before I entered those card details.

But oh my gosh, I am so glad I did.

The St Tropez Tan Remover Mitt has completely superseded my expectations and ultimately, transformed my self tanning routine entirely.

Applying fake tan has never been an issue for me - I’m well-practiced. Check out my blog post 'How To Fake Tan Like A Professional' for all my fake tan application tips. However, taking off fake tan is something I have indeed struggled with - and something that has actually made me pretty miserable at times. It sounds a bit melodramatic, but all that relentless rubbing and scrubbing is extremely tedious and time-consuming.

Which is why I am eternally grateful for this incredible product from St Tropez.

This is the packaging the tan removal mitt arrives in

Super easy to use and at a price to suit every pocket, this handy little mitt effortlessly removes old fake tan without aggravating the skin. For newer tan that just needs correcting, a little more pressure must be applied, but still, the process is painless and simple.

In fact, it’s actually pretty satisfying.

For incredible results, I simply take my mitt in the shower with me, lather up with my usual shower gel and then massage in circular motions all over my body. I do apply a light pressure to ensure that every last trace of tan is scrubbed away effectively, but this isn’t abrasive whatsoever and there is absolutely zero need for any harsh scrubbing. It’s just easy.

I literally just squeeze shower gel or shower cream onto the mitt, lather up with warm water and massage all over the body

After massaging over the entirety of my body, I am left with a complete blank canvas that is ready for a gorgeous new fresh layer of tan. However, I do tend to wait a good few hours before applying my St Tropez Classic Bronzing Mousse, as water in the pores interferes with tan. Another top tip of mine would be to moisturise all those dryer areas (elbows, knees, ankles etc.) immediately after showering so that when you do come to apply fresh tan, the tan isn't clinging to these areas.

I really hope you all enjoyed this blog post & I can't wait to share more with you soon. In the meantime, why not have a read of my post 'St Tropez Purity Bronzing Water Face Mist Review.'

Lots of love,
Grace x
