THE ULTIMATE BALI BODY REVIEW - EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT BALI BODY FAKE TAN.

It’s no secret that I love to rock a gorgeous golden glow. And in order to achieve that perfect, year-round permatan, I rely on my beloved fake tan.

I pride myself on being somewhat of an expert when it comes to how to fake tan and knowing what is the best fake tan. And that’s because I’ve spent well over a decade trying and testing all of the different brands and formulas available. And when I say all of them, I genuinely do mean it. All of them.

So, as you can probably imagine, it takes a lot to impress me in this game. I can spot a poor quality fake tan a mile off, these days. There’s no fooling me! So, when I say a fake tan is great, you know Im serious.

And I’ve got to say, I’m really excited about this blog post because I’ve just discovered a fake tan brand that has earned a huge thumbs-up from me. After playing the field with fake tan for over 10 years, nowadays, I tend to stick to what I know - but I’ve got to say, this false tanner has definitely turned my head.

The gorgeous team at Bali Body kindly gifted me a selection of their stunning fake tan products to try out and review on my blog.

Not one to turn down the opportunity to sample some gorgeous new faux tan goodies, I was super excited to learn more about this brand and their products. And now, having tried their 'Bali Body The Deluxe Glow' kit, I feel like I’ve really gotten to know the brand and also, I understand exactly why Bali Body has such a huge following.

And that’s because this fake tan is honestly amazing.

When the Bali Body box first arrived at my front door, my first thought was ‘this packaging is really sleek!’ The attention to detail is second-to-none and everything about the exterior of the product feels premium and high quality (which goes a long way for me, as I have to admit, I am a teeny bit of a fake tan snob!)

This kit contains everything you could ever need to achieve the perfect golden glow - as well as everything you could ever need to strip it all back and start over again. Fake tan mousse? Check. Fake tan remover? Check. Facial fake tan? Check.

Oh, and two handy mitts to apply and erase the fake tan? Check, check.

Like I say, there’s nothing else you could want or wish for, really. This is certifiably a one-stop-shop fake tanning kit. AKA: any seasoned fake-tanners dream.

So yeah, it's safe to say that my first impressions were pretty great.

And as I began to unpack the kit and experiment with the products, the Bali Body Deluxe Glow continued to earn my seal of approval.

I must admit, I was slightly nervous at the fact that the kit contained a dark tanning mousse, as I wouldn’t normally opt for a dark fake tan (I’m naturally quite fair and I don’t like anything that looks over-the-top or blatantly unnatural.)

Fortunately, though, I was pleasantly surprised.

The false tan mousse is deep in colour, but it’s very natural-looking and the tone of the tan is one of the best I’ve ever tried. My pet peeve with fake tan is when the tan has an orange or a green tinge to it, but the Bali Body tanning mousse boasts the most stunning, natural bronze colour.

And the combination of the light, fluffy mousse and the super-soft tanning mitt helps make for the smoothest, most even coverage ever. In fact, the application was so effortless I actually found myself really enjoying the whole process. I always apply my fake tan whilst facing the mirror to help ensure I’ve covered everything (especially those hard-to-reach areas) and as I glided the mitt from top to toe, I couldn’t help but admire my golden transformation. It was very satisfying, I have to say!

Body glow-up complete, it was time to return to my kit and fetch out the fake tan for face.

Facial tanners have to be just right - lightweight, easy to apply, natural-looking and of course, non-comedogenic. There’s nothing worse than bronzing up and then breaking out in spots two days later.

Great news - the Bali Body Face Tan Water comes up trumps in every area.

The fake tan I normally use on my face is fake tan mist for the face, but the Bali Body formula is almost like a lightweight gel/serum. The pump action bottle makes this super simple to apply with no mess or waste, which is always a huge bonus.

Personally, I chose to apply the product with my fingertips. I suppose you could use your Bali Body Luxe Tanning Mitt, but  simply for precision and to avoid transferring any body tan onto the face, I find that fingertips work best. Of course, if you do opt to apply your tanning water in this way, just be sure to rinse your hands thoroughly with warm soapy water, afterwards (glaringly obvious fake tan palms are the ultimate fake tan faux pas.

The Bali Body Self Tanning Mousse takes just one hour to develop into a light tan, four hours for a medium sun-kissed glow and 8 hours for a deep, sultry, all-over bronzing. So, as a nice, medium-coloured tan is my usual go-to glow, I allowed the recommended four hours development time before eagerly jumping in the shower and rinsing away the indicator layer.

There’s nothing worse than a deceptive indicator layer with fake tan - you know the ones, girls. The tan looks great until you hit the shower and then bam - you’re uneven and patchy with a questionable tangerine-tinted skin tone.

And with that in mind, it gives me great pleasure to confirm that this self tan is just as - if not more beautiful - beneath the surface of the indicator layer. No dodgy patches or streaks. No green or tangerine tints. No frustrating build up in awkward places. Just a perfectly even, gorgeously golden all-over tan.

Ahhhh.

Oh, and not even a glimpse of UV was needed to achieve the look (sun worshipping was so 2007.)

This photograph shows my left leg that's just been tanned using one really light layer of the Bali Body Self Tan Mousse VS my my right leg that has no tan on at all. As you can see, the colour is super natural from the get-go, but this did develop into a deeper, more golden glow.

My arm immediately after applying the self tanning mousse. As you can probably tell, the lighting in this photo is quite a bit better than that in the shot of my legs! How gorgeous is this glow?!

I’m really impressed with the longevity of both the fake tanning mousse and the self tan water for face. However, for optimum results & the longest-lasting, beautiful Bali Body tan, I like to maintain things by gently exfoliating using a Greek sponge every day when I’m in the shower. I find that this helps the tan to fade evenly and keeps everything looking super natural. But when I want to start over and prep myself for a fresh layer of tan, I use the Bali Body Self Tan Remover and Bali Body Exfoliating Mitt provided in the kit.

I am going to do a full review of the Bali Body Self Tan Remover, as it’s so good I feel it deserves a blog post of its own. For now, though, all I’ll say is that this innovative, nourishing formula is honestly amazing and makes the process of removing fake tan completely effortless.

I still have lots more Bali Body content to share with you all, so please do pop back soon to check out those upcoming blog posts! For now, though, I really hope you all enjoyed this blog post & I can't wait to be back here sharing more with you again very soon!

Until next time my lovelies!

Lots of love,

Grace x
