HOW TO UPGRADE YOUR BATH TIME: 6 SIMPLE TIPS FOR A MORE LUXURIOUS BATH TIME.

Few things in life relax me more than a hot bubble bath. I never take my phone in with me - A) Because I’m pretty clumsy and chances are I would drop it in the bath (been there, done that, got the tee) and B) Because it’s one of the only times that I genuinely get away from my phone. I’m not huge on social media or anything, these days, but with my line of work & the fact I work for myself, I still have to keep a close eye on my emails and LinkedIn messages.

Anyway, a breather from my iPhone is always very much appreciated and a long hot soak grants my weary eyes a rejuvenating break from the screen. Ahhhh.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve come to appreciate my time in the tub so much more than I used to. It really is one of life’s finest little luxuries - and with the right products and adjustments, it can be even more of a sumptuous treat.

So, how can you make your bathtime more luxurious? I’m here with all the tips you need on how to upgrade your bath time and unwind in undisputed style.

How To Make Bath Time More Indulgent

1. Swap bubble bath for bath oil

Don’t get me wrong, I love Radox as much as the next person, but when I'm craving a super sumptuous, soothing soak, I reach for the bath oil. I absolutely love the Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia Bath Oil and the Neal's Yard Remedies Soothing Bath Oil,. Bath oils are great as they actually moisturise the skin, too, so you always emerge feeling super soft and supple. Love.

2. Light a candle

Oh how I do love me a little candle in the bath - it's just the most aesthetically-pleasing addition and genuinely does create the most serene of settings. I like to opt for something with a spa-like scent so that I can really recreate that feeling of being in a spa and enjoying a proper pamper. The White Company Spa Restore Signature Candle is my absolute fave - it's just divine.

Some people light their candles and pop them on their bath bridges. Personally, this freaks me out because, as previously mentioned, I’m pretty clumsy, and the last thing I want is to wind up covered in hot wax mid body scrub. Instead, I pop mine on the side of the sink or our ladder shelf. I also light it about 10 mins before plunging in so that the room is utterly enveloped with heavenly eau de relaxation. Bliss.

3. Use a hair mask

A super nourishing hair mask always leaves mh lovks looking and feeling their best, and what better time to apply than when soaking in the tub? Unsurprisingly, I’ve tried and tested a shed load of hair masks in my time, and while some have been nothing major to write home about, there are a couple that score high. Right now, I am obsessed with the Garnier Ultimate Blends. My fave is the Papaya, but I’ve tried them all and they all smell insanely good (and work wonders, too, ofc.)

If you’re looking for something a little more high end to give your soak an extra lavish touch, the Pureology Strength Cure Superfood Deep Treatment Hair Mask is pretty darn fabulous.

4. Use a shampoo brush

Designed to deeply massage shampoo into the hair and loosen up any product still clinging to the scalp (sounds gross, but it’s almost impossible to get rid of all our shampoo by hand), these brushes are also super relaxing. It feels like you’re having a little scalp massage every time you use it, and afterwards, you genuinely do feel squeaky clean, which I love. I'm currently using the Brushworks Massaging Shampoo Brush, which is a steal at just £7.

5. Have some fizz (you deserve it!)

It doesn’t have to be alcoholic, but be sure to pour yourself a refreshing tipple that you can sip away on as you soak. I actually use plastic champagne flutes to remove the risk of any nasty accidents, so if you have clumsy tendencies, like yours truly, these are well worth investing in. Also, as well as having something fresh and fizzy, I always have a huge bottle of water with me whenever I bath, too, just to keep me super hydrated.

6. Buy a bath pillow

And lastly, but by zero means least: invest in a bath pillow. You’re not going to see it if you intend on snapping an aesthetically pleasing leg shot with your candle, fizz and luxe bath cream in, but boy oh boy will it keep you comfy.

My back rubbing against the hard bath is the one thing I really don’t enjoy about baths, so a pillow is an essential for me, but even if this isn’t something that majorly bothers you, trust me, once you get one, you’ll be very glad you did. The Rio Luxury Spa Bath Pillow is just £20 from Argos and it's fabulous!

I really hope you all enjoyed this post & I can't wait to share more with you soon!

Lots of love,

Grace x
