For me, the current situation is particularly unnerving as I’m pregnant & as well as all the general anxiety that comes with being pregnant, I’ve now also got the added anxiety that comes with living and being pregnant during a global pandemic. Plus back pain. Plus low iron. And a bunch of other fun things. Great!
Some days are easier than others at the moment, which I think is what a lot of us are finding. However, I have to say that since I’ve been getting back into a proper routine, I have actually been feeling a little bit better. So, for this blog post, I thought I’d share my morning routine with you. I hope you enjoy!
8:30AM - Wake Up
As I’m pregnant and exhaustion hits me more on some days than it does others, I don’t always stick to my alarm. However, my morning alarm is always set for 8:30AM nonetheless and providing I don’t feel unwell or have had a really bad sleep, I always try to stick to it.
9:00AM - Make Breakfast
At approximately 9AM, I head downstairs and make myself and Marc some breakfast. At the moment, we’re both really enjoying our smoothies, so I’ll whip out my trusty BlendActive and all the ingredients I need and getting whizzing everything together.
My favourite breakfast smoothie at the moment is a Banana Mocha Smoothie which is made using frozen bananas, freshly brewed ground coffee, milk (I use oat milk or almond milk), unsweetened cocoa powder and ice cubes. Super simple yet so delicious.
My banana mocha smoothie has been a hit with Marc, too |
10:00AM - Shower time
After making and drinking my morning smoothie, I like to chill out a little bit either watching YouTube or whatever is on TV, and then I head up for my morning shower.
For me, the average shower usually takes about 10 minutes. I know I shouldn’t, but I do wash my hair every single day and in that time I will give myself a full body wash from head to toe, plus a little shave here and there if I need it. I’ll also apply my CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser which I massage deep into my pores using my Magnitone XOXO, before removing the excess with a damp Egyptian cotton cloth.
10:15AM- Skincare Time
All clean and fresh, as soon as I get out of the shower I smooth moisturiser on all over my body, paying extra attention to my baby bump, and then move onto my usual skincare routine.

10:45AM- Get Dressed
Until this point in my morning routine, I’ll either be in my pyjamas, my dressing gown or a towel, which quite frankly, I love. Loungewear is just the best, right? At about 10:45 though, I’ll pick out an outfit if I haven’t already and get dressed in something ‘proper’ for the day. At the moment, I’m wearing maternity leggings and a T-shirt or sweater on most days, just because these garments are super comfortable and practical.
11:00AM - Dog Walk
At approximately 11AM, I’ll get Elvis on his lead and take him for his first walk of the day, which will usually last around 45 minutes. We’ll then head out with him again at about 3:45-4PM for his second walk, which will usually last a good hour and a half. I absolutely love walking Elvis - just being outdoors and enjoying those luscious, open green spaces really invigorates my soul and soothes any anxieties that I have. It’s also a really great way for me to stay active whilst pregnant. For more tips on staying fit during pregnancy, check out my blog post 'How To Stay In Shape Whilst Pregnant.'

11:45AM - Brew & Blogging
And finally, when I’m back from my walk with Elvis, I’ll pop the kettle on, get my laptop out and spend some time going through my blog and planning any future blog posts that I want to write.
I love my morning routine and I love that feeling of having a really productive morning in which I’ve ticked everything off my to-do list.
What does your morning routine look like? Do you even have a morning routine, or are you just winging it at the moment? I’d love to know so please do pop a comment in the box below or link me to your own blog post so that I can have a read.
I really hope you all enjoyed this blog post and I can’t wait to share more with you soon.
Lots of love,
Grace x
