Identifying the best affordable skincare products and sharing them on my blog has become a major project of mine. I know just how important it is to us all that our skin looks and feels healthy and amazing. But I also know that not everybody can afford to/can justify such costly splurges on pricey skincare products.
So, for this blog post today, I thought I’d come to you all with one of my most recent low cost skincare discoveries (I’ll never use the term ‘cheap skincare products’ as I think this suggests the quality is poor or in some way compromised through being affordable.) And believe it or not, this affordable pink clay facial cleanser is from Aldi, of all places.
If you’re reading this and you aren’t from the UK, Aldi is basically a really affordable supermarket over here. And as well as posing the pedddfr place to pick up groceries on the cheap, it’s also become a popular go-to for luxury skincare dupes (and the best beauty dupes in general, really.)
I’ve sampled a few of the Aldi skincare products now (Lacura skincare products, actually - all skincare/body products at Aldi come under their own ‘Lacura’ brand.) And I honestly don’t have a bad word to say about any of them. Check out my review of the Lacura Liquid Illuminator which I shared not too long ago - one of the best Aldi beauty products, in my opinion.
And this pink clay cleanser is yet another that has really impressed me.
Judging by the packaging and the contents of this facial cleanser, I believe that this product has been inspired by the iconic Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish. And whilst I can’t deny that the Liz Earle facial polish does boast a more luxurious exterior that makes it feel like a high end skincare product, truthfully, besides that, there really isn’t an awful lot that separates one from the other.
The original Cleanse & Polish Liz Earle is famous for contains ingredients such as rosemary, chamomile, cocoa butter and eucalyptus essential oil - but the brand has since gone on to launch a selection of special edition versions of the product, too. Including the Liz Earle Rose & Lavender Cleanse & Polish - which is remarkably similar to the Lacura Pink Clay Hot Cloth Cleanser.
This blog post isn’t a direct comparison between these two products, but as I would describe what Aldi have developed as direct dupe of the Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser, I felt it was worth going into a little more detail on this.
But now that we’ve talked about that, let’s get back onto the rose clay hot cloth cleanser and what it is that I love about it so much.
There are so many great things about this product that go way beyond its attractive price point - the first being that it cleanses the skin beautifully, removing all traces of makeup effortlessly.
I hate feeling that I need to scrub at my skin to get rid of my makeup, so the fact that this cream cleanser melts away my makeup so easily makes it an instant winner for me. I’ve now completely eradicated my usual micellR water from my skincare routine and have began using this instead. I’m much preferring this method of removing my makeup as it feels so much more gentle.
Another thing I adore about this gentle cleanser is how it exfoliates the skin. The combination of the moisturising cleanser and the muslin cloth is perfect for gently exfoliating the skin. Some face scrubs that claim to be gentle daily exfoliators can actually be quite harsh, but this really isn’t. It’s super kind to the skin, but still works effectively as an exfoliator, which is perfect for me.
And finally, I just love how my skin looks and feels after using this product. My complexion looks super clean, clear & refined and the surface texture is smooth and supple. This moisturising cleanser is so nourishing & in general, just a lovely facial wash to use.
This product has made me excited to try more Aldi beauty products - all of which I will be sure to review on here!
Until next time, my lovely readers.
Lots of love,
Grace x
