WHY YOU SHOULD WEAR A PRINCESS WEDDING DRESS ON YOUR WEDDING DAY.

If your wedding has been put back again because of the Coronavirus pandemic, then you’re likely feeling pretty fed up. Planning a wedding should feel fun and exciting, but when you’re told that you can’t get married on the day that you planned to, and all of that anticipation and build-up is pulled from beneath your feet, it’s completely natural to feel deflated.

But to all the brides-to-be out there, still eagerly awaiting the arrival of their newly-scheduled big day, I just want to say this - it will be worth the wait.

When my husband Marc and I first got engaged, lots of advice was fired my way - some good, some bad, some really bad, some really good. But the one piece of valuable advice that I will always remember was this: ‘enjoy the build-up, because the planning is so much fun, and it goes so quick!’

And it’s honestly so true! Making decisions on each and every one of those finer details is what makes that pre-wedding magic so, well, magical!

But of course, the most magical part of all, for any bride, is shopping for that all-important wedding dress.

Wedding dress shopping is the one thing that all future brides fantasise about.

And what with so many beautiful wedding gowns available to choose from, created by a whole host of incredible wedding dress designers, it’s no wonder this decision is such a big one.

So, what wedding dress style should you choose?

Well, that’s exactly what I’m going to talk to you all about in this blog post - because for me, it just has to be a princess wedding dress.

We can’t all be the same, and I’m not here to change anybody’s mind if they’ve already found their perfect wedding dress. But, for those that haven’t already clapped eyes on their dream wedding dress, I’m here with all the reasons to choose a princess wedding dress.

I got married in May 2019 and opting for a princess wedding dress was the best decision I could have made. I wore the Mori Lee Margarita gown (style 8119) and it really was (and still is) the wedding dress of my dreams.

I loved my princess wedding dress!

But that’s enough about me, this post is all about YOU and why you should consider wearing a princess style wedding dress.  So, without any further ado, let’s talk bridal gowns...

Reasons to choose a princess wedding dress

1. Nobody will upstage you

Okay, so it’s your wedding day, and you’re the blushing bride - it’s pretty unlikely that anybody is going to upstage you. However, people are beginning to make more and more effort with their wedding guests outfits, and there are some pretty fabulous ones out there. The good news is that by opting for a fairytale wedding dress, there’s basically a zero per cent chance of anybody stealing your thunder. But of course, if anybody even dares TRY to take the limelight on your big day, you are well within your right to make them leave. Obviously.

2. Guaranteed wow-factor

There’s something about big wedding dresses that bring that instant wow-factor. And that’s not to say that there aren’t some truly spectacular slim fitting wedding dresses and fishtail wedding dresses - but puffy wedding dresses really do create that ultimate fairytale vibe.

3. Great for dancing in

A lot of people - including myself - wrongly assume that big wedding dresses are difficult to dance in. But actually, the reality is quite the opposite. If, like me, you do decide to wear a princess wedding dress design, you’ll probably wear a hoop underneath the dress (hoops ensure that the dress stays floaty and hangs perfectly all day and night) - and underneath the hoop, your pins are free to party the night away without any restrictions. Ahhh!

4. When else will you get the opportunity to wear a princess dress?

When deciding on what style of wedding dress to choose for my big day, this was one of the things that really helped me to decide.

I actually fell completely in love with my wedding dress the first time I ever went to try wedding dresses on with my mum, but then I had a moment of self-doubt when I saw a fitted lace wedding dress in the same bridal boutique window a couple of weeks later.

It was absolutely no surprise to me that when I tried on said slim fitting lace wedding dress, i adored it. If was beautiful. But then as soon as I put my chosen wedding dress on again, I remembered why it was this dress in particular that stole my heart.

The dress that won me over was the type of dress you would only ever see on a bride. It was both elegant and glamorous, chic and sparkly - everything I could have ever wished for! And the fact that it was a princess shape wedding dress was perfect. Because when else would I ever get the opportunity to dress like a princess?

Arriving to my wedding in a white Rolls Royce Phantom definitely added to that fairytale feeling!

5. You are a princess!

And finally, let’s not forget that you ARE a princess! On your wedding day, you ARE a real life princess, so why not take advantage of your highness by dressing like the royalty that you are?!

If this type of wedding dress isn't for you, then that's totally fine, but I wanted to put this blog post together to share the reasons I feel this wedding dress style makes for such a fabulous choice.

I really hope that you all enjoyed this blog post & I can't wait to share more with you soon. In the meantime, I hope all you beautiful soon-to-be-bride's are making the most of that gorgeous build-up.

Lots of love,

Grace x

  1. Wow! This is an amazing post. You are looking so pretty. I love the outfits that you shared and I just fall in love with these dainty pieces of jewelry. I'm a jewelry lover and I would love to wear these outfits with piercing jewelry. I'm a jewelry lover and I'll definitely try this look with my industrial piercing jewelry. In these days Industrial Piercing is a huge trend. Thanks.
