Whether you’re a hopeful mummy trying to get pregnant, a first time mummy, a single mum, a step mum, a fourth time mummy or whatever else your personal mummy circumstances may be, it’s always comforting and reassuring to know that you aren’t alone, and that there are other women on-hand to speak to, laugh with and, on occasion, cry with!
Motherhood is magical, and the love we feel for our little ones is so powerful that its entirely singular in its quality. But, whilst our hearts are full enough to burst, that isn’t to say that our mummy duties don’t come with their challenges - which it’s why it’s so important to stay connected with - and build new relationships with - other mums.
When I was pregnant with Eric, I was among the many women experiencing pregnancy during lockdown - which was very strange, indeed. There were no antenatal classes, my husband couldn’t come to routine hospital appointments or scans with me and I wasn’t able to go out and shop for beautiful baby clothes in person - something that still tugs on my heartstrings a little to this day! Fortunately, though, I was able to connect with other women experiencing the exact same emotions as me - wanting and wishing for a more ‘normal’ pregnancy experience, but making the most of every moment at the same time.
And the reason I was able to do this is all thanks to the Peanut app.
A social media app that’s made for mums, Peanut exists to ensure that no woman is left to navigate through motherhood alone. Connecting and supporting women throughout their fertility and motherhood journeys, Peanut presents the perfect place to learn, chat and build both short and long-term bonds with like-minded ladies.
So, if you’ve been looking to download the best app for mums, or the best app for pregnant women, then this is it.
I’m now almost 11 months into my motherhood journey, and I can honestly say that I couldn’t be without my Peanut app! So, for this blog post, I thought I’d tell you all a little more about the Peanut app, as well as all the reasons you need to hit ‘download’ at once. I hope you enjoy!
Why you should download the Peanut app
1. It’s super slick and easy to use
For me to enjoy using an app, it has to be sleek and easy to navigate - and Peanut is both of these things.
If you want to know exactly what the Peanut app is like before you download it, the best possible way I can think to describe it is like a Tinder-style friendship app for mums. Connecting with other mamas is made easy by Peanut’s ‘wave’ feature, which allows you to virtually wave at other mums and mums-to-be. Then, it’s up to you lovely ladies to engage in a virtual chin-wag!
2. It allows you to share your pregnancy experience with other women
It might sound a little bit silly, but I always dreamt about going through pregnancy with my best friend by my side. Me and my bestie used to have loads of conversations about getting pregnant at the same time and then going through everything together - including our little ones becoming best friends, just like us!
I can’t be the only one, right?
Of course, the chances of this actually happening are pretty unlikely in any case, and as you can probably imagine, this dream didn’t come true. However, thanks to the Peanut app, I was able to build friendships and share my pregnancy experience with many other women.
3. It connects you with mums locally
Having a little chat online is lovely, but being able to actually meet up with other mums and mums-to-be is such a special experience - and as Peanut connects women locally, arranging mummy meet-ups couldn’t be easier!
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to enjoy this aspect of the Peanut app, really, as I was pregnant during the peak of the pandemic - but this is such a lovely feature that will be wonderful to use when things return to normal.
4. Help and support is always available
With over 1.6 million subscribers, the Peanut app is, without question, the place to be for all mums.
An online community that is truly thriving, Peanut’s popularity and the high engagement amongst its users means that there is literally always someone to talk to. So, whether you’re worried about something, you’re having a down day or you’ve simply got something you’d like to ask your fellow mamas, the Peanut app has got you.
5. There are lots of groups to join
One of Peanut’s coolest features - in my opinion - is the ‘groups’ section, which invites mums to join various different ‘sub-communities’ within the app.
And there are literally loads of different groups you can join. There is something for everyone. So, whether you’re a mama suffering from anxiety and depression, you’re a socially awkward mum, you’re a dog mummy as well as a baby mummy or you’re simply looking for a space to make some mummy friends, you’re good to go.
I would recommend the peanut app to all women, no matter what their experience of motherhood may be. So, what are you waiting for? Download the Peanut app today & join the ever-growing community of mums worldwide. We’re in this together, mamas!
I really hope you all enjoyed this blog post & I can’t wait to share more mummy life stuff with you all very soon.
Lots of love,
Grace x
