HOW TO REPAIR SKIN OVERNIGHT: 7 GAME-CHANGING TIPS FOR FIXING BROKEN SKIN FAST.

Skincare is something that I’m hugely passionate about, and that’s because of how my skin makes me feel. If I have glowing skin and radiant skin, then I instantly feel more confident in myself. So, if you’re looking for the best tips for perfect skin, or you’re simply looking for some skincare blog posts to read, then you’ve come to the right place - because my blog is loaded with everything you need to know about skincare!

And yep, you guessed right - this blog post is all about skincare, too!

For this post, I thought I would share my top tips on how to repair skin overnight.

If you’re reading this blog post, then it’s likely that you’re looking for information on how to fix broken skin fast. Whether you’ve popped a spot too soon or your anxiety has left you picking at your skin, this blog post has been written with you in mind.

I’ve learned a lot about bad skin habits over the years and I’ve done more than my fair share of picking and prodding.

And I know exactly how it feels to have gone too far with your skin.

Girls, guys, I’ve got you. Let’s talk skincare and how to repair broken skin fast.

1. Keep your skin super moisturised

Okay, so this is super important. Keeping your skin hydrated after a picking session is absolutely imperative. You have to keep your skin moisturised - even if the reason you were picking was because you had a breakout.

There’s a common misconception surrounding spots and breakouts that oil and moisturiser is in some way detrimental to the skin and encourages breakouts. But actually, providing that you’re using products that suit your skin, this isn’t the case at all.

Keeping your skin supple and hydrated is important no matter what your skin type is. And did you know that oil is equally beneficial to those with oily, blemish prone skin?

If you’ve been picking and poking at your face, then skip the astringent skincare products like toner and retinol, and go straight in there with your moisturiser. A good face cream (I love the CeraVe Facial Moisturising Lotion With SPF 25) or face oil will act as a film on your skin, protecting the raw skin that you have damaged, encouraging it to repair as quickly as possible.

2. Use Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate

I love the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate

Not only does this product smell absolutely beautiful and boast the most stunning Kiehl’s-esque packaging, but it’s also incredibly effective.

Packed with a cocktail of skin-loving ingredients, such as evening primrose oil, lavender oil and squalane (to name just a few!) this is most definitely one of the best night treatments for the skin.

For best results, apply a few drops to your face just before bed and allow the magic to happen whilst you sleep!

3. Try La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume

Okay, this stuff is literally like magic. Honestly, I won’t be able to do it justice - but I’ll try!

I first started using this skincare product whilst I was at university. I’d been messing with my skin during a period of serious anxiety, and I was looking for something that would fix the problem fast.

And the La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume definitely did the trick.

Texture wise, this skin repair balm is thick and tacky - something those with problem skin usually try to avoid. But please don’t be alarmed by how this product looks and feels. Used sparingly, this skincare saviour will accelerate skin healing tenfold. It’s fab!

4. Get plenty of sleep

It’s no secret that getting lots of sleep is great for our skin - after all, our skin does all of its regenerating and replenishing whilst we catch those z’s.

So, if your skin is in need of some extra TLC & you’re hoping to get it looking clear and fresh again fast, then it’s time for an early night.

Even just one or two hours extra sleep will make the world of difference, so get that lavender pillow spray out and unwind. Your blemish-free complexion awaits…

5. Steer clear of makeup

Slathering on the concealer might feel tempting, but if you can, try to resist the urge to cover everything up!

Concealer will make your skin look better on the surface, but whilst you’re skin is raw and broken, it’s not a good idea to apply makeup.

Broken skin is vulnerable and more susceptible to infections and further breakouts, so be sure to focus solely on skincare for a little while. It’s essential that your skin is kept clean at all times.

Swerve the thick foundation and stock up on Sudocrem, instead.

7. No more picking!

And finally, whatever you do, don’t pick at your skin any more than you already have.

Our skin is amazing, and unless you have damaged multiple layers of skin, it’s unlikely you will be left with any permanent scarring. However, if you continue to pick after uour wounds begin to scab over and heal, you may find that those acne marks stick around much longer than they would have otherwise.

As gross as it sounds, prodding, poking and peeling at a scab can feel extremely tempting - but it’s so important that you don’t!

I really hope you all enjoyed this blog post - please let me know if you found it useful. Or, if you have any other tips on how to repair raw skin, then please do drop a comment in the box below - I'd love to hear your tips!

Until next time, lovelies!

Lots of love,

Grace x
