THE PERFECT NUDE LIPSTICK - L'OREAL COLOR RICHE SHINE 642.

Pinning down the perfect nude lipstick is no easy task - but believe me, the feeling when you do is pretty darn special. I’ve dabbled with many pinky nude lipsticks, nude lipsticks and natural lipsticks over the years - but few have earned my affection. 

For me, the perfect nude lipstick is moisturising, a little bit glossy and nude but not too nude (if you know, you know.) And my most recent lipstick discovery ticks every single one of those boxes and then some. 

Oh, and earning it major bonus points, it costs less than a tenner!

As someone who pays around £20 for lipsticks usually, I must admit, I had my reservations with this drugstore lipstick. Now though, I take all those negative presumptions back. The L’Oréal Color Riche Shine range is stunning, and I need to talk to you about shade 642. 

But before we get into that specific shade (which, for the record, has stolen the number one spot in my top three nude lipsticks collection), let’s discuss the entire L’Oreal Color Riche Shine range. 

This entire lipstick collection is deserving of a moment in the spotlight, because, quite frankly, it’s absolutely gorgeous.

And the magic begins with the perfect packaging. Sleek, shiny and super luxe-looking, the exterior of these L’Oreal lipsticks is very pretty indeed. I love the clear, glass-like, angular shape of the bullet and the addition of the gold detailing helps make for a really high-end feel.

And that premium quality is true of the lipstick quality itself. 

There’s nothing worse than purchasing a beautiful-looking piece of makeup and then discovering that the product itself isn’t up to scratch. Fortunately, this definitely isn’t the case with the L’Oréal Color Riche Shine lipsticks.

What I really love about this lipstick is the creamy texture and the glossy sheen that it leaves on the lips. When applied, The lipstick feels super soft and nourishing and the colour is just beautiful. 

If you prefer your lipsticks matte or if you want a really powerful, stay-all-day with as few touch ups as possible sort of lipstick, then this probably isn’t the one for you. If however, like me, you like a bit of a shimmer to your lipsticks and more of a glossy finish, then this range is right up your street. 

There are lots of different colours to choose from, so whatever your shade preference may be - a cute, pale pink, a sultry brown or a beautiful berry - the color riche collection has got uou covered. 

My favourite shade and the one that I chose to buy is the MLBB shade, AKA: 642. The reason I chose this lipstick is because one of my favourite bloggers, Inthefrow, mentioned it in one of her videos a while back and I just loved how it looked on her. 

With a subtle but sweet, mango/pineapple-like fragrance, this lipstick smells delightful and looks even better. I love the way my lips look so glossy and plump after applying and the 642 shade has a real ‘your lips but better’, feel about it.

There are a lot of nude lipsticks out there to choose from, but not all of them are great (I find nude lipsticks so hard to shop for!) but this one has to be one of my favourites, ever. It’s natural-looking and really enhances the look of the lips, which I love.

This lipstick is the perfect everyday nude lipstick, but equally, it works great as a glam, date night lipstick, too. For a more glamorous look, I pair the L’Oreal Color Riche Shine 642 lipstick with my MAC Whirl Lip Pencil and a soft, brown smoky eye.

If I absolutely had to point out one negative about this lipstick, the only thing I could possibly point out is the fact that the lipstick itself is quite soft. On a couple of warmer days, I’ve had to be really, really careful not to wind the stick up too much. If I had - and hadn’t been super gentle with my application - I think the lipstick would have snapped in half. 

Other than that, though, I have nothing but positive things to say about this lipstick - I just love it!
