I feel like I’ve been on a real journey with my skin over the last ten years. It’s taken me a long time to stop obsessing over those microscopic, virtually impossible-to-see imperfections and effectively establishing the perfect skincare regime has been quite the process. Fortunately, I’ve finally reached a place of peace with my skin and I have to say, it’s never looked better. And I attribute that to a handful of products and tools that I now couldn’t be without.
Of course, everybody’s skin is different and there are no hard and fast guarantees that these products will have transformative results for everyone, but as someone who has done their fair share of overtime researching the matter, I have it on pretty decent order that these goodies are well worth investing in.
So, without any further ado, here they are…
The Best Tools, Products & Devices for Amazing Skin
1. CurrentBody Skin Light Therapy LED Face Mask
Red light therapy is having more than just a moment right now, and it’s not without good reason. LED face masks are a game-changer to say the least, and while there are now many brands with their own versions out there, for me, nothing beats the CurrentBody Skin LED Light Therapy Face Mask.
Expertly engineered, this mask has been innovatively designed and developed to help reverse the signs of ageing, reduce discolouration, minimise acne scarring and banish pigmentation (plus more). In a nutshell, this mask does it all.
Whatever your skin concerns might be, this mask is here to save the day. For me, it’s massively helped with the texture of my skin and certain areas that were slightly discoloured. I’m sure it’s helping with ageing, too. I’m only 31, so I’m not deeply concerned about wrinkles and the like at this point, but there has definitely been a notable improvement in the tone, texture and elasticity of my skin since using the CurrentBody LED mask, which is great.
2. Bamboo cleansing pads
My mum bought me these as a stocking filler at Christmas time and at a first glance, I thought that they were just reusable makeup removing pads - but how wrong I was. With an exfoliating texture, these bamboo cleansing pads are perfect for deeply cleansing the skin and really removing that everyday dirt and grime. I love exfoliating as it instantly makes my pores look more refined and gives my skin that squeaky clean look and feel. That being said, I am equally conscious of over-exfoliating and damaging my skin, so these pads are the perfect middle-ground, offering a deep cleanse and kind-to-skin exfoliation every day.
3. CeraVe Foaming Cleanser with Niacinimide
Splurging on skincare is something I am more than happy to do where necessary, but for the most part, I genuinely don't feel the need to break the bank anymore.
One of my favourite ever skincare products is the CeraVe Foaming Face Wash, which is just as kind to the purse as it is to the skin. I love the way it foams up and relieves excess oil without stripping the skin or leaving it feeling tight.
I’ve done my homework when it comes to cleansers, and even the most expensive ones I’ve tried don’t compare with this. My skin is clear, fresh and smooth everyday and I genuinely enjoy using the product (especially with my bamboo pads!)
4. The Ordinary AHA 30% & BHA 2% Peeling Solution
I remember being about 14 years old and watching people get chemical peels on 10 years younger. I was fascinated by the before and after results, but equally terrified at the prospect of my skin having to shed several layers in order to be restored to irs youthful glow. Fortunately, I’ve learned there are some great products on the market tjay work well without being quite so abrasive.
The Ordinary Peeling Solution is a product I’ve been using for about 4 years now and it really is (IMO) phenomenal. I use it between once and twice a week and when I do, my complexion peaks in every single way. It’s bright, glowy and ridiculously smooth. Immediately after use, I do find that my skin looks a little pink - but in a good way. This soon wears off, but personally, I'm quite fond of that post-peel glow, anyway!
5. The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 5% in Squalane
And finally, another product from The Ordinary that never ceases to amaze me - The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 5% in Squalane.
Actives aren’t for everyone, but for me, this product works a treat. It effectively resurfaces the skin without sapping it of moisturise - and it just leaves my complexion super fresh and glowy. I use it every evening before applying my usual rosehip oil, and when I wake up, I don't look half as tired as I feel (even if Eric has woken me at 5AM.)
So there you have its - five products that have transformed my skin for the better.
I really hope you loved this blog post as much as I did writing it, and I can't wait to share more with you all very soon.
Lots of love,
Grace x
