We are often reminded of the fact that - and this is something I also pledge, by the way - our skin is a reflection of our lifestyles. The likes of eating habits, how much sleep we get, our alcohol consumption - plus a whole ton of other things - can impact on the texture, appearance & overall feel of our skin quite dramatically. However, unfortunately, for some, simply cutting out the takeaways and getting a couple of extra hours in bed isn’t quite enough. And it’s for this reason why using the correct skincare products and adopting a solid skincare routine is so important.
I actually think that, on the whole, most skincare worries can be tackled fairly easily. The issue is, of course, that investing in all those holy grail products and trying out all the latest formulas and brands comes at a cost. And I for one know exactly how much it costs to use premium brand products each and every day.
And trust me, I’ve spent more than a pretty penny on my mission for flawless skin. But you know what I’ve learned? It isn’t always the most expensive brand names and hyped-about products that work most effectively. In fact, having recently switched up my skincare routine & purchased a trio of products from The Ordinary, I’ve found that there’s a lot to be said for shopping around and trying new things.
My first investment from The Ordinary was their Glycolic Acid Toning Solution - which I loved. And having been so impressed with the results and how my skin was looking and feeling, I deciding to try out a couple of other items, too.
The Ordinary Caffeine Solution and The Ordinary Plant Based Squalane are two of the newest additions to my skincare regime, and I really am just so amazed by the results of both products.
The Ordinary Caffeine Solution is what I’m currently using as my eye cream. As it’s fortified with caffeine - as well of a host of other intelligent ingredients - it cleverly combats the appearance of dark circles and obvious signs of fatigue, to reveal brighter-looking eyes almost instantly. And it’s great. I really love the thick, oil-like, serum texture and the fact that you only need a couple of drops means that the product lasts really well, too. Top points all around for this little beauty.
And I only have great things to say about The Ordinary Plant Based Squalane, too.
As most of you will probably know, I much prefer face oils as opposed to face creams and face moisturisers as I find that oil formulas absorb much more quickly and effectively. However, I’m used to spending £30 or more on my usual facial oil, so when I saw that this one was less almost a fifth of the cost of this, I was a little sceptical. I mean, how could something so, well, cheap, provide the same great results as something so luxurious?
Nope, I don’t know either, but somehow, it does.
I use The Ordinary Plant Based Squalane both morning and evening after cleansing and toning my skin, and it honestly leaves it feeling so beautiful. You guys know just how much I love my clear, radiant-looking skin, and this affordable bottle of goodness delivers the goods every single time.
Having now sampled three products from The Ordinary and having been equally happy with each of my purchases, I can now confirm that this brand is 100% worth investing in.
Naturally, products work differently on different people and depending on whether you have dry skin, oily skin or normal/combination skin, you may find that these items don’t have quite the same effect on your commplection. However, as a member of the normal/combination skin crew, I can assure you that these products really do work.
So, if you’re coming to the end of your current face toner or you simply fancy treating yourself to a new moisturiser, then I urge you to give The Ordinary a go. You’ll be blown away by how affordable the products are, and I’m sure you’ll be delighted with the results, too.
