HOW TO GET FLAWLESS SKIN - 6 TOP TIPS FOR GORGEOUS, GLOWING SKIN.

When it comes to beauty, if there’s one thing we all know want to know the answer to, it has be be ‘How to get perfect skin.’ Having a beautiful, radiant and glowing complexion is something that we all long for. After all, wouldn’t it be lovely to just wake up in a morning and not necessarily NEED a full face of makeup? Check out my blog post 'How To Look Pretty Without Makeup', for more beauty inspiration.

It’s no secret that I absolutely love makeup, but in order for makeup to really as great as possible - super flawless and smooth - a gorgeous, clear base is essential. Skincare most definitely comes first before any cosmetic product, so, before you reach for the concealer or the foundation, take a moment to think about your naked skin and how you can enhance your natural glow.

A clear complexion that radiates health and luminosity owes itself to a number of different things - a healthy diet, lots of fresh water and of course, a strong skincare regime.

Which is exactly what I’m going to talk about in this blog post.

I talk a lot about skincare on my blog. It’s a true passion of mine and I think it’s important that people understand how to truly take care of their skin. But for this post, I thought I’d talk about the simple tweaks and adjustments you can make to your current skincare regimen that will help enhance the look of your skin and as a result, leave you feeling more confident.

So, without any further ado...

1. Use An Exfoliator

If you haven’t already, then how’s the time to start exfoliating your face on a regular basis. How often your exfoliate your skin should be determined by your own personal skin type. For example, those with normal skin should only need to exfoliate once or twice a week, whereas someone with oily skin may benefit from exfoliating three times a week instead. A good facial exfoliator will leave your complexion looking youthful and revived, and will slough away any dead skin cells to keep everything looking clear and refined.

One of my favourite ever face scrubs is the No7 Microdermabrasion exfoliator. You can read my full review of this product here: 'Getting Perfect Skin With The No7 Microdermabrasion Exfoliator.'

2. Double Cleanse

If you’re sat there asking yourself ‘what is double cleansing’, then you’ll be pleased to hear that this simple skin cleansing method is just as uncomplicated as it sounds. Yep, double cleansing is quite simply cleansing the skin twice, as opposed to once. For a deep clean that will leave your skin looking and feeling fresher than ever, I recommend removing your makeup with your favourite Micellar water (I love the Garnier Micellar Water & Simple Micellar Water). Once the bulk of your makeup has been removed, it’s time to go in with your second cleansing product - this product should be either a foaming cleanser or something creamy/gel based that you can massage into the skin and rinse away with water. I’m a huge fan of the Aesop face washes, but the Simple face washes are great, too - and so affordable!

3. Ditch The Baby Wipes

If you’re still using baby wipes or makeup wipes, then do both yourself and the environment a favour by getting rid of them and never using them again! Baby wipes and makeup wipes are actually really abrasive and they’ll never remove every last trace of makeup or grime. For this reason, you’ll likely end up using about 20 wipes after a night out and still wake up with panda eyes. Seriously, wipes are a huge no-no.

4. Invest In A Facial Oil

Personally, I prefer face oils to regular face creams and face moisturisers. I like the way facial oils really sink into the skin so quickly and that feeling of nourishment is just so instant. A few of my favourite face oils include the Clarins Lotus Oil, Botanics 100% Organic Facial Oil and the Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate. For something a little more moisturising that will really get to work whilst you sleep, the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate is just fantastic, and the Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil works like a dream, too. Gorgeous!

5. Use An Eye Cream

Still getting by without applying eye cream? You may feel as though your eyes look OK without it, but trust me, as soon as you do start using a good quality eye cream, you will definitely notice a difference. I absolutely love the Radiant Eye Cream from Facetheory and the Windows Of The Soul Eye Treatment Gel-Cream from Temple Spa is supposed to be brilliant, too. I really need to try this product - it sounds amazing, and it won a Beauty Bible Award in 2017! Award-winning beauty products are definitely my thing.

6. Beware Of Drying Skincare Products

Those with acne-prone skin in particular are all too quick to navigate to the alcohol-heavy, super-drying skincare products, but sapping all moisture from the skin really isn’t the answer. In fact, some studies have found that drying out the skin has actually caused the skin’s sebaceous glands to work overtime, creating more oil and therefore causing further breakouts! So, before you reach for those acidic skincare products, do a bit of research, first. Face Theory, The Ordinary, Clarins and Paula’s Choice are just a few of the brands that are worth exploring if you’re worried about spots and breakouts. Another highly worthwhile investment is the Magnitone XOXO Microsonic Soft-Touch Silicone Cleansing Brush. If you’d like to find out more about this tool, check out my full review here.

I really hope you all enjoyed this blog post and that you’ve picked up lots of top tips for perfect skin! If you’ve any questions about any of the brands/products mentioned or you’d simply like to ask for some further help with your skincare, then pop a comment in the box below and I’ll get back to you as quickly as I can.

Until next time, lovelies!

Lots of love,
Grace x
